I hope this is the right place to ask this.
I'm playing various soft synths hosted in VSTHost, and at certain times in the performance I want to play some .wav files. Is there perhaps a VST whose sole purpose is to play .wavs on command? Or some other way to accomplish what I need? |

That would be a 'sampler'. If you're on Windows, the free Shortcircuit sampler is excellent and drag-and-drop. (be sure to use v. 1.1.2 as 2.0 was never finished) |

Thank you all for the suggestions! My .wav-playing needs are very minimal, so something simple like Sam!Solo 1.1 (thanks, VoltAirOhm) looked to be right up my alley. Unfortunately, VSTHost doesn't like more than one instance of it at a time, so I moved up to Sam 2.2, which is working OK so far. |
