I love this plugin. Even just using the presets, things started to sound better, thank you for your generosity

WOW! At 1st I didn't have lot of expectations but after trying it with different types of music I think this plugin is simply awesome! I can't believe it's free! Thanks man!

It's complicated and I've managed to get it to distort pretty easily, but it seem like it has huge potential once you learn its intricacies.

^ You're right I don't know if it's gonna be free but judging from what I've read so far I think it will. Even if its not I'm sure the price will be fair.

I simply adore the control over compression and limiting this plugin gives you. Fantatic.

I really like this one also, Its great that it can be used as a clean peak-limter/clipper all the way to total smashing/abuse (on idividual tracks and busses/groups...etc.) I got it down in about 5 minutes, The signal flow is very good/laid out well even if slightly complex. It is not just one's regular peak-limiter though, It sounds really good and Vlad has pulled out another great dynamics device with alot of the power in the user's hands

about the name:
if sky is the limit "небо" (sky in russian) could be a good name, maybe written in a non-cyrillic way (Nevo?)...

that would be Nebo.alphadelphi wrote:maybe written in a non-cyrillic way (Nevo?)...
i'd still vote for Glasnost, but Nebo is also a very nice idea!

Don't want this to slip to the back pages.......I gave this plugin a quick test and really liked the results but I just can't deal with the blank white interface. Looking forward to the photo realistic military style gui.......

Thanks! I'll check it soon.satYatunes wrote:I know it's in alpha stage now. Just posting it as FYI. I just tried it with Sonar X1D and it seems to be taking too much CPU. Interestingly, in bypass mode also it uses a bit of CPU. (...)
About "Glasnost'". This word has formation from "Glas" which means "Voice". The verb is "oglasit'" (to say by voice) which means "announce" or "make public". So this word without all policy sh*t means just "publicity". BTW, I lived in that era and can't say it was cool.
About russian military names. I didn't find according english article in wikipedia. In russian it is here [http://bit.ly/eGzGBg] (long link name, sorry for shortening). Just for education purposes here's my try of translation:
---
The naming of military equipment usually happens according to one of the following traditions:
1. By the codename of scientific or experimental work or contest ("Rook", "Judge", etc.)
2. By the first letter of modification (C-200A - "Angara" {the river}, C-200V - "Vega", etc.)
3. By the abbreviation (Nona {a feminine name} - New Weapon of Ground Artillery, etc.)
4. By the logic of series naming. For self-propelled artillery the flowers' series: "Hyacinth", "Tulip", "Peony". For air defense the rivers' series: "Shilka", "Tunguska" {river names}. For rocket artillery the elemental forces: "Hail", "Tornado", "Hurricane".
5. By the associations. Air-defense rocket: "Arrow", "Needle"; jam generator: "Midgets"; sniper's camouflage "Wood goblin", etc.
6. By the army humor. Handcuffs "Tenderness", spade "Passion", heavy flamethrower "Pinokkio", etc.
7. By the name of creators: "Vladimir" tank (by the name of main designer) or air defense system "Antei-2500" (by the name of company).
8. By the obvious action. "Contact" - active tank armor (works on contact), "Hoarfrost" - firefighting system.

So the "Molot" case was #5.
