I wouldn't bet on it. I don't think Reason is going to support VSTs any time soon. You'd probably have better luck with Orion Studio. I personally never used those types of programs, but I think it's the only 'all-in-one' production software that supports VSTs. |

I saw the cdm live coverage yesterday as well.
I also saw urs' name in the list of plugin developpers who will participate in that new reason plugin format. I don't use reason so I'm not really excited about all of this but it's great for reason users. I hope urs will not take too much of his time to work on the reason stuff |

I'm also interested in this, because Zebra2 is my go-to synth, so one of the only reasons I haven't made the switch to using Reason as my all-in-one DAW is that I wouldn't be able to use any of my Uhbiks or Zebra in the program without rewire. If u-he makes Zebra into a rack extension (or any other u-he synth for that matter), I would be a very happy man. |

You didn't see the reason allowing 3rd party plugins via their own integrated app store announcement yesterday then? They are doing an apple style app store where properly re-skinned versions of people vsts can be sold. Apparently propellerheads have spent a lot of time on the the SDK and dev tools to make it easy as pie to convert your current DSP code to run in the reason rack. uHe, GForce, soniccharge & Korg amongst others were announced as already developing stuff for the reason rack. |

Urs said the ReRack technology isn't there yet to port his big synths:

http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4863768#486376 8 So I guess my question to the u-he team would be, "since Reason 6.5 is scheduled to come out sometime within this second quarter, realistically, how soon after the release of Reason 6.5 would a u-he synth be able to be implemented as a rack extension? Is it even a possibility in Q2?" |

I'm still kind of not allowed to talk technical details, so bear with me if I'm being vague.
While doing Uhbiks is a no brainer and astonishingly easy to do, we couldn't quite comprehend how to do the dynamic user interface of Zebra, Diva and ACE in these early stages of the platform. OTOH I talked to many Props today and everyone stressed how much they'd like us to also port the synths. So I do believe that it's just a matter of time till we can at least do ACE or even Diva, and maybe one day also Zebra. We will need to establish a workflow, and we'll need to get Propellerhead to help us with some stuff. After all this is a mind boggling concept from a developer's point of view, and once the SDK goes public... all I can say is, we've been drooling over this for quite a while |

Diva Diva Diva! Whatever you do, remember to include _shďtloads_ of CV/Gate inputs and outputs. If RE takes off Reason is going to be the number one modular synth playground out there just because you aren't shackled to synth's builtin effects and stuff anymore. Modulating any DIVA parameter with a Matrix pattern generator... mmmmmmmh.... |

I think the modular patch environment in ACE would work well in Reason. More cables to patch and more modulation sources. ---- simon |

Now DIVA, zebra(3?), Ace, Bazille...be interesting in reason with the routing options Mind you rewire works very to be honest. ---- Rintrah roars & shakes his fires in the burdend air 'Need talent & opportunity' |

I'm not shackled to built in effects now! Lives racks and macros are easy to create and save with multiple 3rd party effect chains... With Max for Live I can modulate any Diva parameter should I wish. I also have Numerology... but really I mostly use realtime modulation via a few knobs, expression pedal and X/Y pad and have little need for complex routings and setups beyond what racks provide. |
