Hey guys...

it was very close, but the voting is over and the "Emotional"-Theme took the most votes.

Now you can send in track-recommendations. Recommend up to 10 tracks of your own or from others(but remember, that they have to be listed on the OSC-Website).
The "Emotional-Theme" is not bound to downtempo-piano-tracks - Recommend whatever touches you in your heart!!

Deadline is Sunday, 1st April.

After that, I'm going to put all tracks together and we (the committee) will nominate about 20 tracks. Afterwards, you can vote for the tracks you like the most!

Please recommend like this (example):

OSC 21 - Mulperi - Into The Light
OSC 32 - Kalee - Society of Forest Lemmings
OSC 7 - Mouxbar - Cat Food
...

Who is in the committee? 5 guys, that did participate in the past OSCs. I am the first member. So I have to choose the second member, the second one will choose the third, the third will choose the fourth and the forth will choose the fifth.
When all 5 members are choosen, I will post it in this thread!

Happy listening and a nice week!!
Bjulin

In no special order:

OSC 24 - Mike777 - Flourescent Sky (The first one that made me feel something when i was listening ALL the tracks, from OSC 1 to the last)
OSC 34 - Mike777 - Seekers of Truth and Light
OSC 37 - Bzur - No more Tears
OSC 28 - Bzur - Rachael
OSC 32 - DocJon - Iona Sunrise
OSC 37 - Solidtrax - Are We Dreaming
OSC 35 - Pocvecem - Panta Rhei
OSC 29 - Pocvecem - Easy Slomo
OSC 3 - Psycox - TAL Dubli 3
OSC 9 - Ah Diz - Not very Spooky
OSC 33 - Bjulin - Peace
OSC 32 - Flumba - GrumpyBot Accidentally Grows Wings
OSC 32 - Van Morrison - All my Love
OSC 33 - BJPorter - Final Report
OSC 37 - BJPorter - In the Key of G
OSC 33 - Z.Prime - Into the Line
OSC 27 - V'ger - Soma

Total of 17

And 3 mine i wanted to remake and remasterize again with new gear:

OSC 28 - Irion Da Ronin - From Daydreaming to Reality
OSC 29 - Irion Da Ronin - I would tell you...
OSC 32 - Irion Da Ronin - Asian Passion

Of course there are too many others that i love, but i think these fits with the Emotional theme to me.

Anyway i got a doubt.
If an original song was Emotional (for example Ambient) Must we remake it in the same style? Or could we take an Ambient one and converts it into Trance? (for example)

Have a good day Smile

Very tricky genre! Is it 'sentimental' type of emotion we're looking for?

I think, something that makes you happy is also emotional... but it really has to affect you in your inner feelings, not just the surface Smile

Just 10 Irion, just 10! Shocked Wink
Then it's up to the committee to choose 20 of them.

OK guys... seems like, this is a bit too much for you all, to listen to all the tracks since the beginning... I understand that!

So, we extend recommendation to sunday, 1st march.
You don't have to recommend 10 tracks... you can recommend only 1 or 2 tracks, too! You can recommend your own tracks as well as others tracks!!

I hope, you will find some time to recommend in the weekend! Wink

cheers, Bjulin

Too stumped by the task to be honest as the tracks that do something for me emotionally probably has nothing to do with what the genre is supposed to be so think I'll leave it to the committee and those who voted for the genre and come stronger back nominating when it's a genre I'm more comfortable with.

This really has proved more difficult than expected, mainly because of the sheer number of tracks involved, and also because I find it hard to determine what makes a track 'emotional', as opposed to 'chilled' or 'exciting', it all seems emotional to me!

I've tended to pick from the last 12 months as these are the ones I'm most familiar with, many of them chosen because I could remember them even without listening, and some of the earlier participants do seem to have disappeared without trace so I guess at least we know the recent folk are still active. I've only chosen one per person to include as many people as possible

OSC 37. bzur - No More Tears, well this one was easy, certainly emotional Crying or Very sad and favourite bzur track ever

OSC 35. PocVecem - Panta Rhei - The Eternal Flow, another easy choice Smile
OSC 35. Aiyn - Beautiful Winter, emotional in an uplifting way, there may even be some new sounds which could be worked into it somehow Wink

OSC 33. Bjulin - Peace, where does emotional become chillout and vice versa, who knows, but I do know I like this a lot Cool

OSC 32. Ancient - Ice Cream Summer, ice creams and summer, what's not to like Love

OSC 28. IrionDaRonin - From Daydreaming to Reality, oh go on then, if you insist! I could have chosen any of them but this one was excellent Very Happy
OSC 28. Stonail - Cycling on Tyrell's Surface, in retrospect probably my favourite OSC track of all time HiHi

OSC 27. V'ger - Soma, top of the tunes from V'ger Smile

OSC 23. Yeager - I'm So Sorry, what a pedigree Yeager has, in the OSC from the first month and still active to this day, this goes back a bit but is a cracker Cool

z.prime - Into the line Smile

Sorry I haven't had much time to go through every OSC... others:

Bzur - No More Tears, Virgo's Eyes
Irion - Asian Passion

The more I think about it... it's a "what can't we include from bzur?" competition.
