Some Cakewalk people post here from time to time - perhaps changing the thread title to something with Sonar in will get their attention?

Yes and moving it to the Hosts or Instruments threads might help?

Here's a quote from the Cakewalk forums:

EDIT: The same issue affects Zebra as well.....
So I guess it's developer Tennis at this point....your serve.....There is an issue with U-He plugins and the Give All Keystrokes to Plug-in button . If you are in the preset window in Uhbik (and other U-He plugins I think), and use the "Give All..." button, it will not work. As soon as you enter a letter mapped to a Sonar command it will jump out of the preset window and perform the command in Sonar. This happens at least in some U-He plugins - definitely in Uhbik. there is a thread about it here somewhere.

It's also interesting to know that naming presets in Tyrell is not a problem in Reaper, Orion or FL Studio so it appears only Sonar X1 has this problem. At least with the hosts I own........

Sonar 8 also had the problem - not sure about earlier versions but certainly it is a Cakewalk only problemTeksonik wrote:It's also interesting to know that naming presets in Tyrell is not a problem in Reaper, Orion or FL Studio so it appears only Sonar X1 has this problem. I don't see why they can't make having keyboard shortcuts an option anyway - I for one never use them intentionally and find myself often unintentionally changing the layout or something in Sonar due to mispressing a key accidentally

I think you can unbind the shortcut keys?

Yes you can, but in X1 it doesn't work. I tried everything, and tech support couldn't help. I didn't persist though. Who has time?

Oh god Cakewalk support are hopeless. Just got a response to me opening a new report because they closed the old one to comments:
The status of your problem report has updated to "Closed - Duplicate" with the following notes:
This report has been closed because there is a duplicate report from you regarding this issue already on file. Please reference your original report for further status updates regarding this issue. This will help us to better serve you with status updates in regards to this particular issue.
But they have never got back to me with requests for information despite the fact that earlier in this thread one of the support team is quoted as saying they needed more information, and neither have they updated me after many months. Needless to say the bug has still not been fixed. So once again I have no way to communicate with their support team - what a dumbass system! No wonder Sonar has more bugs than any of the hosts I have.Your original report is still open with us internally but it is not open for correspondence. Should the developers and/or testers need additional information they will open the report with additional questions. Please reference CWBRN-5808 regarding this issue.

Good point. This particular "feature" drives me up a wall.
