Ok, I'm working on a soundbank for BLADE as we speak, and tbh, I think it's WICKED for bass. The thing with Blade is, it's a bit of a "sit back and scratch your head" kinda synth as it's not just all supersaws and whatnot. Here's a quick little demo of some of the sounds I'm working on... All synth sounds are Blade [percussion isn't of course]... Seeing as the comments suggested that the wobble mp3 demo was bland or something... a dubsteppy thing with ballz [as aggro synths seem to be the go to these days [Massive etc.], and Blade can do that just fine]:

Also, I'm no dubstep hotshot, so take it for what it is, a little sound demo

EDIT: ..also, just to be clear, the synth parts apart from a tiny bit of side chain on the sub bass +1 limiter on the master [not running hot, so no effect on the sound], is 100% Blade, nothing added FX wise.
EDIT2: BTW, the bank won't be just wobbles, it's cover a very wide range of styles, as with all my banks...

There are some basses in our bank included with Blade, hell we even did some phat kiksttoz wrote:hmmm....
Not a dub person so i don't know if the wobble presets are "good".
The other ones are generally great though.. very nice for ambience, and the ability to record the pad and then have it sync to tempo at any subdivision is crazy and almost worth it just for that!
Really digital sounding, but that's ok, look i like it and some presets are stunning.
the problem i am having is that i have got (an admittedly kush ubk1'd beat in the backround) but that's it just one beat on an empty song to test the syncing of blade, and i am finding it hard to make the sound cut through, it's a bit weakish for the dance beat i have going, and i certainly don't see it as a bass synth, but then again, i have never liked any additive synth for bass.
But for pads and atmos, and arps etc, it's nice. Real nice. Some gorgeous sounds there.

I have been playing with the demo for the last couple of hours, and I believe it has real potential. I have more VA synths than I know what to do with. I have some PM synths that are excellent for what they do. Blade though seems to take things in an entirely new direction.
The patches that come with the demo are definitely a mixed bag. Some are very playable and useful, others...not so much. What playing with the demo showed me was how easy it is to modify a patch to get a completely different and often more usable sound. It is easy to use, but it also has a reasonable about of depth to explore.
I am not sure why there was so much discussion here about the quality of the mp3 demos. The purpose of the audio is to show the flexibility and the potential of the synth. I realize that other developers post fully produced songs, where RP posted mostly examples of patches. As far as I am concerned, they did what they were supposed to. They showed me that Blade has the potential to make some interesting sounds, so I would download the demo. Which I did.
Posting over and over how crappy the sound was on the mp3s seemed like an exercise in futility. How does one get so invested in a subject like this that it becomes an argument? If you don't like the sound, move on. One post is more than sufficient to express your displeasure.

Please please please. Always provide an init preset!! Anyone got one to share?
Edit: Ok, wasn't that much work ctrl-clicking the first preset. But still!
I really really getting a positive vibe from this synth now! It's sort of like Diversion, not the standard knobs to tweak so you get a new approach to making the sound. And that is something i like! Innovation!
Quick question. There's an audio input but no sound goes through. So my question is: Hum?

I found a bug.. though a minor one. If you move the Octave knob just a little in the Harmolator, you will change the octave but the knob one show it unless you move it a bit further.
Also, the arp tune is way to sensitive. Three octaves is a bit extreme, isnt it? If scrollwheel would work here it would help tons!
I am truly getting some unique sounds from this
Edit: Ability to save arp would be nice Ahh.. Rightclick - Save.
Edit2: Can i modify the arp when playing? Must it be locked to play? Ahh.. up to the left - Mode.

Interesting synth, completely different sound engine like this typical VA stuff.
IMO more for moving/evolving sounds, soundscapes, pads.
I like the idea to control all parameters with a XY pad and also the idea to record such movings and have them synced to the host tempo.
The interface is ... hmmm ... the image for the UI is a bit pure rendered, the top symbols have spikes from a missing anti-aliased rendering. Seems they have not invest a lot of time there. I don't like the color scheme, it remembers me a bit to Gladiator by Tone2 but Gladiator looks IMO a lot better.
99€ this time is Ok. But after some hours playing with the demo, I think it's not "my synth".

Limiting it's use to pads is a big waste imho. Bass and chords is what i find it does best.
I think it's great for Maschine as you can assign the xy plus some controls of choice in addition to the chord recorder.
The timeout is annoying. I don't get it. You can save presets as fxp anyway so all you have to do is reload project....

Yes.. the demo limitations are a bit special. The nag screen runs 13s and then after I think 30min or so there is no sound but white noise, so the instance must be reloaded. The demo works for 4 weeks.. but I'm really sure I will not play 4 weeks with this limitations
They should rethink the demo limitations.
I think more in the direction of Native Instruments Absynth. Envolving soundscapes and stuff. Blade can create some of this sounds other synth can't.
This is of course not limited to such sounds but I think this is the selling point for Blade.

I love the Clusters. This sometimes reminds me of the synths I heard in Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
