A final summary.
Clue 1: this synth is said to have a distinctive sound. Clue 2: there's a certain degree of misdirection in the sound examples - in fact the first three clips are red herrings. Clue 3: not withstanding the above, someone who knows it should be able to pick up on at least one of the unique or identifiable features of the mystery synth - there are at least four audible in the clips... two of them are very clear, imo. Clue 4: one guess has perhaps been closer than the others, in so much as they share a familial relationship (actually two guesses - one an uncle, the other a sibling). Synths so far eliminated: Sylenth, Zebra, Alchemy, Tassman, Bazille, SQ8L, Synthmaster, Harmor, FM8, Dune or Sytrus. I'll reveal the mystery synth in half an hour (midday where I am), that's if no one gets it before then. Any last guesses? |

Really nice sounds! I have no idea which synth it is though Cheers Dennis ---- Back from the dead - Sorry if I didn't answer your mails/PM/whatever during the last few months. I hope everything will be back to normal soon. Life can take some shitty turns sometimes. |

Yes, it's Diva... and I'm actually hakey. Had I posted under my usual name, the guessing wouldn't have lasted long. (I should add that I have okayed this with Meffy.) |

Well, I did say there was a fair bit of misdirection going on. And I thought someone might pick up on the Rotary effect used on the keys - it's a pretty distinctive sound. The other clues were the filter at high res (the 303ish bit and crunchy talk box) the ensemble effect heard in that sting machine type sound (the bit with flute playing over the top) and the delay, all of which are fairly unique to Diva. |

Misdirection, and a little MP3 compression, worked! I was thinking Diva on the Favorite Things but some of the others definitely threw me off, but I don't know that many softsynths intimately, I'm not exactly qualified to judge. |

The clips are all Wavs. Quote: I don't know that many softsynths intimately, I'm not exactly qualified to judge.
These guess the synth threads do just end up being more or less random lists of the well known synths - even where those who maybe are qualified to judge have a go. (And I've never got one right yet.) |
