Not to be impatient, but I'm inpatient! Any chance we will see a Diva update soon?

There was some talk of CPU optimizations coming after Messe, that's whyMushy Mushy wrote:Why?braj wrote:Not to be impatient, but I'm inpatient! Any chance we will see a Diva update soon?

Diva 1.1 is currently in "close circle beta". She's got rather vast cpu optimisation on heavy patches, experimental multicore support (usefulness depends on system/host) and new MIDI Control stuff (yet to be documented). There's not much improvement on bread'n'butter patches, but then again, these weren't too bad anyway.
I hope to be able to finally create a product page for Diva over the weekend, and then we can again post news, send newsletters and indeed release the update, maybe after a few days of public testing.
Oh yes, we still have a problem on Windows XP. Seems like some of the new stuff leads to irritation both in the installer and the plugin itself. This may be related to our new MIDI queue or also to multicore support. Hence we also need to buy a license of XP tomorrow or Tuesday and set up a testing rig.

That's why we're fixing it. I'm sure we'll get it working on XP in no time!vinz89 wrote:Hi Urs,

At your own risk:
http://www.u-he.com/downloads/Diva/Diva585Mac.zip

Does not work on XP. May crash when switching quality setting in multicore mode.
Good side: If you have an i7 or at least a post-Nothbridge cpu, you can probably play all 16 voices, with almost any patch.

Holy hand grenade, Batman, that's one hell of an improvement! I can now play a pad of mine (dubbed "teh CPU killah") in full polyphony on divine setting in Live! Outstanding job, Urs and the team.
Did anyone say "Saurus"?

Wow definitely an huge improvement. Not at home but did a quick remote test, went from ~55% on the 'wash' patch from polys playing ~6notes, down to ~20% with multithreading enabled on divine mode. This was on an i7 2600k ableton 8

Mind you, distributing the load over multiple CPUs doesn't make it less hungry... you'll still want to freeze as many tracks as you can.
At least one can play live now
(but I'm sure it needs more testing in various hosts/cpus)

I see no difference at all, only that one of my own patches eat more cpu.
I am on Mac
Have not seen that little light saying: Multi Threaded.
What can I say anything but WOW
