[rant]Crap like that is really irritating. Give me a reduced price or make a deal where it's free because I'm an Ableton customer, but this x number of months free then we charge you shit is just a marketing ploy.
Whatever happened to straightforward selling? I don't want free for a limited period, mail in rebates or if you buy within the next five minutes. Aaaaaggghhhh![/rant] |

Hopefully, you just get downgraded after five months instead of getting charged and having to cancel, except you forgot to cancel and haven't looked at your credit card statements for a month afterward and wonder why you don't have any money. |

Yeah, I imagine you don't though and all those people who forget will get charged until they notice the charge on their card. I think that's the whole point of this marketing BS. |

I don't think that soundcloud has an option for automatic billing. At least, if they do, it isn't on by default. My Solo account expired last November and while my account was temporarily downgraded to a free account, all the songs that I uploaded were still on their servers. They just weren't all available to the public. Also, downloading the source file and a bunch of other features were disabled. Once I gave them more money, everything went back to the way it was. Pretty painless. I just have to remember to pay them manually from now on. Last edited by justin3am on Fri Apr 06, 2012 9:37 am; edited 1 time in total |

Maybe the next version of Live will have some built-in feature for exporting to Soundcloud. If so then I can understand the strategy. |

It's already there in Live 8.3 |

It's already there in Live 8.3 Well I guess if I had updated or at least read the notes I would have known that I tend to stop updating my apps once I get to a place where everything works. I got there an update or two ago so I don't think this new "bone" does anything for me. |

I can see how this would be a cool feature for people who use Live for every step of their production. I think I will take advantage of the Soundcloud upgrade, though. I have a Solo account but it looks like the Pro account has some features that would be cool to check out. |

I'd have to put everything else aside so I could 'make it' in those 5 months and avoid the subscription fees after. I'm not saying it isn't doable, just that I'm kinda busy with a lot of other stuff right now. Maybe if I'd been given 6 months to get ready for those 5 months, that would have been nice. |
