And you expect us to take you seriously? Oden wrote: But it sounds like typical 808 kick. Meaning sinewave with pitch envelope. In this case it sounds like the envelope isn't too hyped.
I think the attack is not set to instant either. There's gotta be more to it than that. I have all the 808 sample packs and Operator presets in the world and none of them come close. Oden wrote: Your link does not work BTW.
Let me know which one and I'll try to replace it. Oden wrote: If you can isolate the kick you could use a spectrum analyzer to determinate the starting and ending pitch of the sine wave as well as the pitch envelope time and I do think it would come easy after that.
loopdon did just that - could you check out his file? |

loopdon did just that - could you check out his file? The link with your own example. TR-808 is versatile and the samples can be further edited. I doubt you will find every kind of possible combination on a sample pack. Especially because well, personally I dont like "blippy" kicks with that small envelope and no higher harmonics at all. Dont't use samples but some synth. |

Those links work just fine. Oden wrote: Dont't use samples but some synth.
Well, that's what we're trying to do. |

Can you post the whole track?
Anyway it sounds like there is some filtered white noise in there as well. I get this if I try to open one of the links: ‹ |

Sorry, that track is not yet public. Doesn't the clip reveal enough information about the kick? Oden wrote: Anyway it sounds like there is some filtered white noise in there as well.
I get this if I try to open one of the links: ‹ Try going to its parent folder and right click + "Save As" or something. |

The full track doesn't have the kick playing by itself. The producer did that on purpose though. But check out loopdon's isolated sample. So what say you, do you know how to recreate this thing? |

Well creating anything *exactly* is hard. And it is even harder as the kick is in a mix. But yeah, I am pretty sure it's a TR kick sound. Tune it from D1 to around 1000hz and add heavy EQ and some distortion. |

How to recreate it synthetically though? Anyone? |

How to recreate it synthetically though? Anyone? I just told you... Sinewave -> quick pitch envelope from 1-2khz to D1 (thats like 30hz?). Add some drive and processing. You will need heavy EQ. Just draw the midi notes to D1 and apply downward pitch envelope. |

Also, how can you be so sure, you said you only had laptop speakers and that on top of that you couldn't make my links work? |

I can hear the base of the sound even with laptop speakers, unless there is something special going on at 50hz. Anyway I DIDN't use laptop speakers and got really close. If I have the time I will upload the sample. Will have to remake it though as I didnt save the project. There is some distortion/rattle and that's the hardest thing to get right. Your sound sample wont work for me so I cant hear it. |

That kick.adv is an Ableton Operator preset by the way. |
