I'd like to save something I created w/ Propellerheads' Figure - what are my options?

I have a Tascam US-800 connected to my iPad with the camera connection kit. SPDIF out direct into my sound card for lossless recording. This works also and is low latency as long as you record with ASIO drivers.

All I stated is the truth about Figure being incapable of saving anything at all...arp_laszlo wrote:No need to be an ass if it's not suiting your needs. In most cases, people always figure out workarounds.
You CAN NOT save even one pattern, YOU CAN NOT, import it to Reason, you can't do shit...
What a brilliant app it is...

I have the same problem with my two analog modular synths. Its a common problem with guitars and drums and other instruments like that, too. That probably makes them all effectively useless, huh?Leslie wrote:All I stated is the truth about Figure being incapable of saving anything at all...

It is a great app as an "Instrument", as a guitarist I don't mind the limitations as you can't save patterns or songs on a guitar BUT you can practice with it and repeat what you need to play, the same goes for Figure.
This is only a first release and I'm sure more functionality will be added with updates. For 69p it was well worth it, great fun to play with.
I'll probably record the patterns and jams into my DAW via a dock going into an audio interface. SynthStation 25 for iPhone and IO Dock for iPad.

Leslie, you offered nothing but bad-mouthing and pessimism. Others came along and showed how to do what you claimed was impossible. How about cutting your losses and finding something creative to do instead of spending all your time tearing others' ideas down? Just a suggestion.
This isn't just a suggestion but a warning that I won't repeat again: Keep your posts civil.

That sounds like funarp_laszlo wrote:I spose rather than primitive I should go vintage and record it straight into an SP-1200.
Have you tried it?

I wish I had an SP1200! Maybe with updates we'll be able to sample into Akai's MPC Fly at 12bits in the near future

Does anyone know of any PC ways to record Figure? I finally got around to getting it and now I'm kinda stuck. The first beat I made I want to record, but all I got here (on holidays for 3 weeks) is a cable to send headphone output into a laptop's microphone input. Needless to say, it sounds awful.
I guess I'll have to settle for listening to the same beat for 3 weeks until I get home... But even there I'm not sure how I can record it properly. It's fun and it's good enough sounding that I want to be able to actually use the beats.
Am I confused or did the Props manage to make a cool little Euclidean rhythm generator?

Surely there must be consensus by now...

that looks fun, thanks for mentioning it!J.C wrote:Or you can try TriqTraq.
It's exactly what Figure should have been since the beginning.

One of the iOS 6 features listed yesterday was "audio and video sampling during playback". Check the feature list in the image at http://www.idesignsound.com/wwdc-2012-i ... -to-ios-6/

Triqtraq can save patterns, but doesn't export audio...

I'm sure they'll add it soon.
Since when are we waiting for just a save fonction in Figure, already?
But I have to say that I'm not waiting anymore.
For me they missed the train...
