[MXXX] Feature request: crossfade mode for ratio

Hi,
Currently the ratio module seems to blend linearly between the two inputs: at 0% it's 100% input/0% sidechain, at 50% it's 50% input/50% sidechain and at 100% it's 0% input/100% sidechain.
Could you add a mode (or a distinct module) with this behavior:
0% => 100% input/0% sidechain
25% => 100% input/50% sidechain
50% => 100% input/100% sidechain
75% => 50% input/100% sidechain
100% => 0% input/100% sidechain
That is:
- from 0% to 50% the sidechain is blended in from 0% to 100%, from 50% to 100% sidechain is 100%
- from 0% to 50%, input is 100% and from 50% to 100% input is faded out from 100% to 0%.
This would make it better suitable for a dry/wet knob for send effects (e.g. delays, parallel compression).
Regards,
Andre
I'm having a hell of a good time with MXXX. Everytime I fire it up I come up with something interesting.

Hmmm, are you sure about that? It really doesn't make much sense to me. It would make the volume around +6dB with 50% ratio.

I'm very sure. Let's say you want to slowly fade in reverb to the signal. You wouldn't want the dry signal to become quieter in this process, you just want to add the reverb. With two knobs (dry and wet) this is easy, just dial up he "wet" knob. But with one knob you'd need the behavior I described.MeldaProduction wrote:Hmmm, are you sure about that? It's true that at 50% (full dry + full wet) you get a signal that's louder than the signal at 0% (dry only) or 100% (wet only). But that makes perfect sense if you have an "additive"/send effect like reverb, delay etc.
As I said: there should be a switch to decide which mode Ratio uses. The current way makes perfect sense if you want to blend between two signals.
Hm - while we're at it, maybe you could provide even more crossfade curves, like shown here:

Currently you have implemented "intermediate", my request is about "transition", but e.g. "constant power" could make sense, too.

Actually it's constant power now. But ok, I'll check the other modes, it could be usefull.

Awesome, thanks!MeldaProduction wrote:Actually it's constant power now. But ok, I'll check the other modes, it could be usefull.
