This was done on the Octatrack except for a bit of Pianoteq. Minimal ambient dirge and and a few busted beats. Nice hissy noise floor as well.

this affected me quite a bit. it feels like something momentous has happened and this is the sound of the immediate aftermath - delicate, broken and beautiful.

thanks for sharing this Matt.

Cheers Neil... I'm always pleased to know I've pressed an emotional button with my art.

I thought that this generated an almost overwhelming feeling of sadness. Even when the beats came in, the atmosphere persisted. It sounds like that Octatrack is a nice piece of kit. I watched a demo of it in action last night. Very nice indeed.

Nice work, Matt.

...a view from high overhead...mile upon mile of arid wasteland...a lone robot struggles up a steep incline, stalls, rolls back to the foot of the slope, and struggles upward again...

Evocative stuff, Matt

Oh yes. Something a bit Machinefabriek about this. Conjures images of something sinister and forgotten lying at the bottom of the sea. The devil's in the detail with this one. The beautiful and restrained production is the cherry on top.
