Hi Marc, I'm sorry to hear you experienced system problems but it would be nothing more then a coincidence that it happened while running the ElectraX demo. Our demos simply do not work that way. No call home either, the demo just opened the ElectraX product page at the end of the trial, nothing more and nothing less. -Bastiaan- |

It must be a coincidence: the same thing happened to me while demoing Diva. |

Let me throw this can of gas into the bonfire... Can strict demo restrictions lead people into "try before you buy" or whatever that slogan is? (no, i will not say yarr) And please, let's stay in reality, not in a developers utopia. If you want to make money of your software, is this the way to go? Please take a step back, gascan is about to explode Are the demo restrictions as bad as with ElectraX? There is absolutely no way a VST can alter in any way shape or form the boot sector of a disk. lol So it would either be a) a lie, in which case, nice attempt at more rumour mongering or b) a really bad co-incidence. I have had hard drives die when watching a DVD, I don't throw accusations at Warner Bros, and even if you aren't "accusing" the demo, you are sure hinting that way, and I find that laughable. ---- Forward ever, Backward never |

It's exectuable code. It can do anything, depending on the user's permissions. |

When I loaded the full version of Saurus the very first time in Cubase 5, then
Cubase 5 crashes and I lost the Cubase configurations settings. Now it works without any chrashes so far. Makes Saurus something special when it is loaded the first time? |

The first time I tried the Saurus demo right after installing, it took Live approx 5 minutes to open... it was chewing on initializing Saurus. Since then it launches at normal rate everytime without issue. |

Congrats on the new synth, Tone 2. Finally a new synth that is CPU efficient!
Firebird+ was my very first softsynth, which I sadly had to give away after I moved to Mac. If you released Firebird+ or Gladiator Light for Mac I would instantly buy it, as I really like the oscillators and filters, but can't stand Gladiators enormous and cluttered interface. ---- Reason6;Numerology;StudioOne;ValhallaRoom;Equality;ToTape; OldTimer;MonoPoly;Wavestation;M1;Aalto;LoomerString; |

I don't know. I had no problems with the ElectraX demo. It seemed to work all the time, never tried to connect anywhere and I know I kept it on the laptop at least a month. Gladiator always says Logging in, but never does anything. Nothing from Tone 2 ever crashes.
Do you blame them? I mean really, who's to say you won't make a preset bank to sell with a totally open demo? That's stealing. Blade had a short time limit demo and then would just go quiet, but it was no big deal to pull it back up and keep playing. If I don't like a synth in ten minutes, I probably won't like it in an hour. |

It's exectuable code. It can do anything, depending on the user's permissions. So you are saying a virus, which is in essence what it would be seeing as no Virtual Synth Technology would go remotely near the boot sector, can be put into a .dll and upon using the plug-in, render the computer useless. So now people should be weary of all plug-ins as they may contain harmful or malicious coding. Funny how that rumour came about as regards Tone2 once before, and has reared it's ugly head again in this thread. It's amazing how much mud gets thrown around. ---- Forward ever, Backward never |

Yes it's one of the detractors favourite urban legends I wonder how much people will still believe in this tale. |
