Just a sketch so far. Need input on the mix before I record more and do the drums proper.

Edit - new version here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28630409/BTM%202.wav

Sounded great!

Nice riffage, odd. That's a pretty well balanced mix, I think.

Thanks for the comments!

Here's a new and hopefully improved version (mixed less hot, among other things): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28630409/German%20Gain%20IV.wav

The lead guitar is clearer on the new mix, but i think the mix overall sounds a lot tamer than the original (which may have too much "ringiness"). I think somewhere between the two might be a happy medium.

Nice guitar work, by the way 8)

Seismic1, thanks again.

How do you like this version: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28630409/German ... der%29.wav

I like it! This is really lively. Overall it sounds closer to the first version than the second version, but the lead guitar retains much the clarity from the second version.

I've worked quite a bit with the mix, and now have this:

Not mixed that loud. What do you think?

Post

Yeah. the mix is quieter, but the bass is less "ringy/boomy" than before. I think the kick is also clearer. The guitar is good. The overall sound seems tighter than the earlier versions. An improvement, I think :)

Thanks!

great tones man-what are you using ?
live 11 / Arturia collection / many Softube plug ins / thats it

Nice tonality on this version. It allows the musicality and "breath" of the instruments though. Better definition and instrument articulation. Nice playing and good job at keepin' it tight.

Just my 2 pence. :)

Thanks! Rhythm guitars are are an LP through a Dual Rectifier preamp-clone (http://www.56inc.com.br) through cabinet IRs. Bass is a Fender Jazz Bass through IK Ampeg SVT. Lead guitar is Amplitube (ENGL model). Drums are Addictive Drums. Mixed (quite sparingly) in Ableton Live with T-Racks 3 limiter and EQ.
