Hey guys, i just found Porter Robinson, and i am in love with this one synth. I know i may be a little late to just hear of him now but still!
it starts at 1:30. I know it some kind of super saw, but to be honest i've never really made a good super saw, and this sounds slight different to the usual one.
So any help would be great!

Hey,
I see you never really got a reply, don't know if it's way too late or what, but anyways...here's what I think..
The supersaw seems to be layered with that weird bass that leads up to the supersaw. Seems like a pretty average supersaw, but he has that base layered over it to give it a little more of a unique sound.

And just combine the bass with a supersaw, if you look around YouTube there are a few good tutorials on making supersaws.
When I make supersaws I use Sylenth1 or Massive.
In Massive the first thing I do is set the "Unisono" to 16 and keep the max at 16. Often I will turn the pan position on and use that to make the sound wider, and usually if I don't use it, I use an external plugin to get a similar effect.
I usually use Square-Saw 1 waves for all 3 oscillators, each of them on a different octave (one neutral, one above, one below). All of them get detuned, not a lot, but a little bit. Then I add some white noise (you can judge for yourself how much you want to add) and a very lengthy reverb using Massive's built in Reverb effect.
That's pretty much it for the plugin, then I just do some EQing and a few other things in the mixer.
In Sylenth I use saw waves, sometimes combined with a square wave. I add some slight white noise, and detune everything like in Massive. I add some reverb with the built in effect, but I usually add more with an external plugin. Sometimes I add a very subtle delay aswell. I also sometimes modulate the pitch, BUT VERY LITTLE, usually I put Pitch AB in the modulation, then put the attack up all the way and turn the modulation knob beside "Pitch AB" up or down just slightly.
Then it's the same as Massive, off to the mixer for EQing, and whatever else needs to be done.
I personally like Massive better for making a supersaw, but I'm a huge Sylenth buff, I use Sylenth more than anything in my songs.
