As some of you know, my music has always been about as low budget as you can get. In fact I wouldn't even have a DAW if it wasn't thanks to a kind friend handing it out as a charity to me.
Slowly, but, finally I am stepping into the world of commercial plugins. Thanks to Xenos Sounds who pushed me towards buying my first major commercial plugin, MicroTonic I have now been looking for quality, but somewhat affordable plugins.
While it was a little pricey, I did demo the product for 120 days before I could finally make a decision (They offer a 60 day trial, and all it takes to unlock a trial is an email, so I fed it two email addresses) I have just now purchased 112db's Redline Reverb.
I just want a congratulations because I know it may not seem like much to others, but to me it feels like a major accomplishment.

My favorite quote:
'I'm so happy you're happy'.....
Feels good, I know. Was thinking along similar lines the other day. Great minds...

Congratulations. Over the past year, I have finally been able to collect a good set of commercial plugins, and it has made all the difference in how I make music. As you go forward, look for the no-brainer deals at AudioMIDI (they are coming back soon), look for sales, check out the market place thread here and you will find great deals to help expand your acquisitions for a reasonable amount of money.
We are going to be looking for some new music from you. Good luck.

Well if my computer (or really my DAW) would cooperate with me, and my job didn't work me quite as much I would be able to crank out a new song by the end of the weekend, but as things are, this next song is taking me quite some time, but it is almost finished...can't really give a date though.JJBiener wrote: We are going to be looking for some new music from you. Thanks, I thought they were a good choice too...all thanks to demo periods of course. Especially 112db's demo period! They are fantastic for offering 60 day unlimited use out of their plugin. Since I got to use it for so long I slowly became aware of why it was as much as it cost and then I got this recent paycheck, my demo literally just ended (again) and I decided, "This plugin is worth the price tag."JoeCat wrote:You picked two fine plugs to start with (I'm playing with microTonic right now).
Good luck!

Way cool. While I'm not the afficanado of effects that you are I think you'll enjoy the product all the more simply due to your investment.

Just don't start buying because everybody else is buying something. Seriously take the time to demo stuff and decide if it's for you. (which sounds like what you're doing)
