This was a GAS purchase that really didn't give me the wow factor I was hoping for. I'd rather use NI

I want Omnisphere too, but I'm making do with Wusikstation in the meantime. Once I pay a couple things off I think I'll order it.

It's fabulous.

And Spectrasonics has online tutorial videos so you don't even need to pay for other tutorials.

Ooooo, MF has it 15% off and I'd be able to use my MF card :hyper:

Hmmmmmmmm, I haven't used it in so long I don't even know if it works anymore

What's MF?

I assume it's Musician's Friend.

Yeah.

I dunno, I just thought maybe it was time to complete the trio :P

Man it's allot though. I just have a tough time with 500 bucks for a synth. IF it was the end all and took care of all of someones synth needs then it would be like "ok, you win......f...k it". But 500 bucks!!!!!!! Ok, I lied about the money part

I sold dune to trim the herd, I'm not selling komplete ever (because kontakt and guitar rig are critical and I only paid about 300 bucks for it)

Post

Yes, you want it.

From my experience with Trilian I definitely want it :) Maybe it isn'y the end-all be-all but I think it does come close, I doubt I would run out of options with it. But then I don't have a huge selection of plugins that would make it redundant.

At the very least it's worth purchasing just to examine the presets as a sound design exercise. I haven't once regretted buying it.

Here's why Omnisphere is a bargain at $500.

1. It sounds amazing. Best sound design of any synth on the planet. Period.
2. Spectrasonics doesn't make you buy add-on packs. (They did once, but gave 100% of the purchase price to charity, so they actually lost money.) Instead of the Native Instruments, Camel Audio, etc. etc. style of selling you a synth for $200-300 but giving you a lackluster stock library and charging you $50-100 for add-on packs, Spectrasonics gives you the whole library when you buy the synth. You will literally never run out of sounds in Omnisphere.

So you really get your money's worth.

You guys are doing good.........keep it up :hihi:

I know what you mean about the camel approach. Don't get me wrong, I think they are a terrific company! But I understand what you mean.

Get it, hibidy. Agreed it feels like a lot of money for one synth, but the investment is worth it. Not only with what you immediately get, but also in terms of the more than generous updates that Spectrasonics is known for.

haha, I just noticed your sig Frank!

Yep, after ALL THIS TIME, I'm finally actually seriously considering it. I hope you were sitting when you saw me post this :hihi:
You will not regret it. One of the best if not THE best synth I own and I have quite a few. I have had since it first came out and had upgraded from Atmosphere. I also have Trilian and the Moog Tribute collection which, along with Atmosphere are all incorporated into Omnisphere.

The sheer number of patches, the extensive architecture as a rompler and synth with its fantastic suite of FX, modulation routings, mixing tools, top shelf arpegiator, stack mode, ORB, exotic tuning capability, etc. make it a dream to program and keep it interesting for years. It fits any genre, sounds fantastic and never gets old. There is a huge collection of source samples that I don't even think the numerous patches that come with it even use. And, the robust upgrades have all been free (except for the Moog Tribute collection - which is a must have)!!!

Here is an Omnisphere only track I did a few months ago:
