Hi

Im playing live soon with an old computer. And doing so Im converting projects made with the Ableton Live reverb. Im running drums out of Maschine and I need to match the reverbs with Valhalla Room. Mostly i run a short slapback reverb on the 16th notes. And a hall/room on a send. Any tips out there for making it as CPU efficient as possible? I can sacrifice some quality.

Use the Narcissus mode. It has the lowest CPU usage of any of the ValhallaRoom modes. You will probably want to set the size below 0.5 for drum reverbs, and closer to 1.0 for hall reverbs.

If you are on a PC, the 1.1.0 update I am sending out later today will run MUCH more efficiently in Ableton Live than the 1.0.9 version. I made some code changes that allowed me to enable SSE2 for the audio code in the 32-bit VST (and RTAS), which translates to big DSP savings.

One more tip: Set EARLY Size to between 40 and 80 msec, and EARLY Send to 1.0. This will create the smoothest response to drum transients.
