Awesome update Sean. I got totally sidetracked whilst trying out LV426 last night and ended up making a whole track! Very inspirational.

I just conducted my own measurements in Ableton Live 8.2.1 (a 32-bit DAW), running in Windows 7 64-bit on my late 2010 Mac Mini (Core 2 Duo, running Bootcamp). The CPU measurements:
ValhallaRoom 1.0.9, 4 instances of Large Chamber: 39% in Live (20% in Task Manager)
ValhallaRoom 1.0.9, 4 instances of Narcissus: 11% in Live (5% in Task Manager)
ValhallaRoom 1.1.0, 4 instances of Large Chamber: 20% in Live (10% in Task Manager)
ValhallaRoom 1.1.0, 4 instances of Narcissus: 7% in Live (3% in Task Manager)
ValhallaRoom 1.1.0 uses 51% of the CPU as 1.0.9 for the Large Chamber mode, which is the most expensive mode CPU-wise. For the Narcissus mode (the least expensive mode CPU wise), 1.1.0 uses 63% of the CPU compared to 1.0.9.
My guess as to the different amounts of savings with the different modes is that Large Chamber has more stuff under the hood that can be optimized by the use of SSE2 instructions. Narcissus is a simpler mode, and probably has a higher percentage of its operations dedicated to pure delay line operations which can't really be optimized via SSE2.
Either way, ValhallaRoom 1.1.0 uses FAR LESS CPU for the 32-bit Windows VST and RTAS than 1.0.9. The more expensive reverb modes will see around 1/2 the CPU of the older ValhallaRoom releases, while the less expensive modes will see smaller yet significant improvements.

So cool with new algos! My favorite reverb, no doubt! Great job Sean!!
Can you guess what reverb was used on this track? ;D

Hah! So I tried the new algo and it's amazingly inspirational!
All instances of ValhallaRoom use the LV-426 algo, the vast as well as the small spaces:

I have to agree, yet again, that this new algorithm is simply stunning! ValhallaRoom can do nothing wrong, ever! Nothing!! It's incredible!!
I just made an awesome valhallaroom + FF Timeless 2 combo thing which I played last night while recovering from alcohol abuse.. 3 hours went by and suddenly it was 7 am. Incredibly inspiring stuff! I've never really been that much into ambient stuff but this algorithm alone might change all that.
Cheers!

Just wanted to say thanks for this update. I must say that this is the most bang for the buck reverb that I know of. The new reverb mode sounds beautiful. I am really impressed. This must be one of my best VST purchases ever.

The new LV-426 algorithm is absolutely delicious....
There's a few developers out there scrambling around trying to play catch up now because Valhalla Room is leaving them behind in the dust
Much kudos to Sean for a sensational sounding reverb

It is. Maybe it's just me but I find myself scrambling for it now (though usually I do the default setting and then select that algo and then tweak from there vs the presets........just me)digitalboytn wrote:The new LV-426 algorithm is absolutely delicious....

More than three days since LV-426 and no new algorithm. Come on guys wake up, this is clearly abandonware.

You might have set the decay too short during install. Or maybe you missed the daily algo expansion options on the hidden admin panel that is obscured by the Verb Whore EULA in step 28 of the new installer.
