Embarassed

Yeah, that was fairly painless. What I think I should have done was put in the SN on the site, and get all the updates before running it the first time. But for some reason I thought in terms of having to run it first.......I think that was erroneous.

I didn't remember though since it's been ages since I've had to install a spect product.

If you get trilian second then there is a nice vidy explaining. Too bad the omni box was old and didn't seem to have that (or I might have missed it....who knows)

Anyways, got about another hour 20 min to go again........reauth........Rolling Eyes

I recently had to reinstall, but I've never seen that Omni had to be installed before Trilian. Anyway, congrats hibidy.

I have Trilian and will probably get Omnisphere once I sell a few things on ebay.

What exactly are the install issues when you do Trilian before Omnisphere?

Hi Hib! I can't believe you haven't already got Omni! Shit! Maybe your GAS isn't as bad as mine Wink

I love it. I did almost an entire 21-minute piece with it, and I found exactly the sounds I was hearing in my head, while I didn't find those sounds elsewhere. And those sounds are exquisite. Omni is great for soundscapes.

I don't agree with some that Omnisphere has achieved the "only synth you need" status, but I don't think any synth has. It's VA is very good but not as good in sound quality or flexibility as the U-He synths (and I have sound file comparisons to demonstrate this). And you can't import samples like the dedicated samplers such as Alchemy or Kontakt.

But it might be the best all-around synth, because it is very flexible, very user-friendly, and the sound library and presets are world-class and very large.

Here's the tune that's almost entirely Omnisphere. Notice how gorgeous the sounds are, and how perfectly they seem to "fit the bill." Omni sounds here include tons of wind-like sounds, gorgeous bells, choirs, dulcimers, and nylon guitar (2 different dulcimers and nylon guitar are not pads!).

sounds nice and guitars sounds really good for ANY software same for piano its not omnisphere but still one product what i dreamed. ps. i not guitarist and to me zebra sounds different when compared omnisphere there is not thing called perfect sounding synth for all uses.

If you like Omnisphere (how could you not Wink) the next purchase on your list should be: Cinematic Guitars

Cinematic Guitars is a PHENOMENAL sound as well.... its NOT a guitar plug.

no no, what I mean is that there didn't seem to be the cool viddy that BEAT THE POINT HOME on the omni install disc like the one with trilian. Maybe I just missed it.

Anyways, up and running now! Very Happy

Here's the thing. I had trilian installed on my C drive. When I did the omni install, I wanted it on my second drive. Anyways, all the stuff has to be installed to the same place STEAM is installed. Here's the rub, if you install to let's say drive "E", spect still installs a "C" version so you have to be careful to make sure you pick the right one. Otherwise everytime you launch one It will ask you to find the steam folder.........then of course it will do it with the other........

Congrats Hib! Omnisphere is one very, very fun synth to ... have fun with!

I agree with all you say here. What I have tested and found to be true though is that U-He analog synthesis sounds smoother and less aliased. In particular, I have compared Omnisphere to ACE and Diva, and both ACE and Diva have very noticably smoother-sounding sync sweeps, whereas Omnisphere's sync sweeps have very noticable harsh aliasing. Some people prefer aliasing and there's nothing wrong with that, but the fact remains that U-He synths sound more like authentic analog than Omnisphere in my opinion, and in the past I have posted numerous comparison recordings to back up this opinion. I use Jan Hammer-style polyphonic sync sweep a lot (ala Oberheim SEM and Memorymoog), and find Omnisphere does not deliver that sound, while Diva not only delivers that sound but does so literally perfectly to my ears. Nevertheless, Omnisphere is one of my favorite and most-used synths, but not for analog sounds, as ACE and Diva fit that bill better. I use Omnisphere for sampled sounds almost exclusively (same with Trillian).

It's going to be quite some time before I get through omni Scared

Tons of really inspiring stuff. Loving the "old school" stuff quite a bit more than all the floaty stuff.

The VIP patches add a ton of rhythmic stuff which I always find uses for.
