I'm comparing MMultiband Phaser to uhbik-P and soundtoys PhaseMistress, and with those two phasers (and all other phasers i've tried) it is possible to completely dial out the clean sound.

- But with MMultiband phaser, even with the dry/wet knobs completely wet, *it seems* that there is always some amount of clean sound mixed in.
I'm wondering if this is normal ?

On multibandflanger and multibandChorus :
set MinFrequency to 20hz and Maxfrequency to 20hz = no sound (normal)

On multiband phaser with dry/wet to 100% :
set MinFrequency to 100hz and Maxfrequency to 100hz = clean sound

The phasing effect just seems a little less present when compared to other phasers on the 100% wet settings. On the other hand, MMultibandFlanger compares very well to uhbik F.

- Another thing, is there a specific reason why the lowest frequency is fixed to 100 hz and highest to 10khz, why not 20hz to 20khz like on the flanger and chorus ?

- Also i'm putting in a request for the rate to go higher like on the uhbik and soundtoys it can go up to 100 Hz (same request goes for the flanger).

I believe this also stands for the MXXX phaser.

You want to GET the completely clean sound or the completely processed sound? The thing is there is no such thing as real dry/wet with phasers. Phasers take the dry signal, change its phase somehow and then mix it with the original signal. So at dry 0% or 100% it basically sounds dry. With 50% the most cancellations is present, so the effect is strongest. The thing with uHe's phaser is that it has more taps, so it is stronger, hence it may seem to you there is more "dry" signal in our phaser.

When you set min & max frequencies to 100Hz, the notches are not moving at all, so as a result it is indeed almost dry (except for the notch at 100Hz). Uhe has the Spectrum parameter for that but it moves both ranges at once.

Now to your requests - they can NOT be made to current plugins for sake of backward compatibility, but in MXXX it can be done.
1) Ok, let's extend the range, but note that with low frequencies it is not so audible and theoretically there may be some artifacts.
2) 100Hz - so be it, not so useful to me, but ok :)

Well i was trying to get more of the processed/wet sound but you are probably right, i was comparing to a phaser with more stages so it seemed cleaner with the melda phaser.

Now i'm afraid i have a last and final request for the phaser, do you think 24 taps and 42 taps modes would be possible ? :D

I don't use 100 hz very often but you can get airplane motor sounds and stuff like that with higher ranges.
Maybe you can tune the taper of the range knob so that on the first half it goes from 0 to 20 and on the second half from 20 to 100 or something like that.
I'm looking forward to the next version of MXXX!

Well, the new version of MXXX will be from 20Hz-20kHz and up to 100 taps, good enough? :) (btw. with 100 taps it's a mess... :D)
