Convolution reverb hardware module?

Does something like this exist? I gave a few searches and didnt find anything. Of course it would be easy to take the stereo output and send it to a Lexicon or whatever but I imagine that a 2 or 3 unit width processor should be available (with CVs for control and all that :P).

Maybe even a VST module so I can load up Altiverb in it?

Sorry I am such a noob in the modular business... but unless I can do what I am already doing with a VST host, a Reaktor (or Tassman) complemented by Puredata... I dont really see any benefit in starting to build a system (beside impressing girls that is :)

sony had a convolution reverb box about 15 years ago. It was very expensive, can't remember the model. Lake Audio had one too, uber expensive. I think they would be both hard to find, expensive and unsupported.

I've seen the smpro v-machine selling for $249 new in the past few months. Cheap way to run a convolution vst in hardware.

thanks, that v-machine tip was almost absolutely perfect... but it is not compatible with neither Altiverb nor IR1 (doh).

it amazes me that it is compatible with top-placed KVR Developer Challenge 09 runner up HybridReverb2!

now the problem is that cold sweat started dripping whenever I fired up SIR1. HybridReverb2 looks more professional (even scientific hehe) but I could not find any pertinent user feedback on the forum or reviews on the internet.

a little uncomfortable this situation is, really

I tried it... 48kHz maximum? no parameter automation?

I guess on PC I could just render individual instruments + effect chains in 48kHz and then upsample and bounce back - but in the v-machine reality I really dont know how much are those converters worth... I mean no S/PDIF?

sometimes I feel so misunderstood...

i may be settling on this: http://www.tiptopaudio.com/zdsp.php?goto=front plus the necessary DSP programming skillz :)
