Wow, very cool ! I agree with all the enthusiasm about it: the singing is beautiful and the piano is perfectly arranged for it
Nicely done

Thanks, everyone - I'm particularly chuffed by the Finn references, as Neil Finn is probably my favourite singer ever
ouroboros, fantastic lyrics, mate! bluedad, beautiful composition. All I did was play and sing it

I love the simplicity that runs throughout this excellent and appealing song.
I could connect immediately.
I love the Hope that the melody conveys - despite the contrasting sadness of Ouroboros' lyric.
Neat bit of piano playing too. It sounds miles better for being "simple" piano played well, then "clever" piano played less well.
Well done, bluedad, for pulling it all together - for working with what you had - and making such a good fist of it.
And Watto - you have a gift.

All I can say is Wow!
It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently no longer an 'elderly', now a 'senior'! Is that promotion?

I'll hold back on the maudlin and pathos, plenty enough expressed already.
I did want to compliment Gary on a well written tune though.
Although, I don't see the problem you encountered constructing a supportive arrangement for it. I feel it's asking for it. It would fit right into a thumping, building rock ballad in my opinion. But that was the past, and that's that.

This is what I sent bluedad, so it's all me. Dodgy bass playing and all!
My wife heard this future the first time thanks to this thread, and loves it - great song, bluedad and ouroboros!

You're right, there's a lot could be done with it, you called me on it.
I think I was a bit intimidated and didn't think I had the chops to pull it off.
Plus I'm a lazy git.
