BFD2 Fx pansion offer..is it worth it?

Hi Guys

I already have kontakt and studio drummer, geist, tremor battery and microtonic


according to you, should i take advantage of the offer by fxpansion about BFD2 ?

what has BFD2 that for instance studio drummer hasn't?

this is very important for me..the differences between them

I have both BFD2 and Studio Drummer

I think Studio Drummer sounds great, but as for what BFD2 offers, some notable items are:

1) Expansion packs. Lots of options from FXpansion, Platinum Samples (which really are top top notch) and Sonic Reality

2) Much more flexible keymapping system.

3) Support, NI Support is next to useless for Studio Drummer unless you need help installing it.

4) Plays better with vdrums

5) BFD2 has a MIDI editor built in. I rarely if ever use this.

6) BFD is far more tweakable and has more elaborate mixer if you don't want to send out tracks to your DAW.

Can't add much to gmon but I do have RMX, Geist, Guru, micro tonic. Despite this I've found when I'm really trying to lay down a convincing groove...BFD first!

I also have Studio Drummer and BFD2. I think SD is great, and sounds great. Probably one of the best acoustic kit sounds out there. But it's basically the same kit with a few verb/delay fx. But BFD2 just has so many other kit options and they are infinitely tweakable. Excellent sound. And the built in MIDI programming makes it very playable. If it's on sale, I would definitely pick it up.

with midi editor you mean that it has a pattern maker like guru, geist or tremor?

It's a pattern editor that allows you to export to midi or audio. You can also map each pattern to midi keys as either a groove or a fill and play them live. It's the most flexible drum sampler I have ever used. I can't compare it to Studio Drummer, but I would say that if you can afford it and like realistic drums, get BFD2.

Forgot to say the BFD2 is my number one drum VSTi and I have SSD 4, Studio Drummer and Superior Drummer 2. They all have their strengths , but BFD makes building kits and flipping slots so easy. The expansions really set it apart.
