(best comparison site I found was cyberport.de, just search for the cpu there). I normally compare these things at hardwareschotte.de. Cyberport tends to be on the rather expensive side from a few comparisons I made. |

It all went into a different direction. i7-2670QM is still the CPU I'm heading for but I found my way to a reseller for custom notebooks called Schenker (selling Clevo barebones, based in Leipzig Germany)
So my pick is the XMG A501-8AN with normal HDD, exluding optical drive but with an Crucial M4 128GB SSD for a custom price of 899€ two reviews in german: http://www.computer-masters.de/schenker-xmg-a501.php http://www.notebookcheck.com/Test-Schenker-XMG-A501-Notebook -Clevo-W150HRM.53197.0.html The graphics is very oversized for just making music but comes in handy for CAD software in my case, plus you can switch on/off external graphics with a button. The service is very nice and the device may be opened without guarantee loss which both is a big bonus point for me, I'm sick of sending stuff around for weeks. More expensive than I thought but that's it, time to upgrade to an SSD is perfect with recent price drops. edit: notebook arrived. test results: i5-430M / 7200 HDD / 4GB: 3x Diva (Divine) in normal project i7-2670QM / SSD / 8GB (but 32bit Live): 7x Diva (Divine) in normal project (9x INIT Alpha Divine in an empty project, it starts lagging with the 10th) Last edited by phazedown on Tue May 22, 2012 10:30 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Please excuse my ignorance but does DIVA require Kontakt to run? It still says that on the belamedia web site. If not would Diva run In Logic Pro 9? |

I had to look that up. The belamedia website you're referring to has a product which is called Diva Revamp, which is a sample library and does require Kontakt. The Diva to which people refer to in this threat is a syntheziser made by U-he: http://www.u-he.com/cms/diva The latter doesn't require Kontakt, works perfectly well in Logic but does require a fast PC EDIT: to avoid any confusion, they're completely different things and not related at all. |

Thanks BDeep, I can't tell from the web site if the software can emulate female singers, the sample recordings seem to have the sound of singers sometimes but also a lot of synth leads, which is it? If it is a singer can she be programmed to sing Lyrics? Can the vibrato be user controlled? |

You're welcome.
U-he Diva, for all synth sounds, can't do vocals.... Belamedia Diva, I don't know anything about this, but what I understood from reading their site, it's female vocals. |
