how many of you are using it to create weird and wacky fresh new sounds and how many are using it just to sample pre made samples or real instruments?

Dunno.

But I mainly use it as a rompler for pre made samples / real instruments.
There are so many excellent sample libraries available across a range of different instruments / genres nowadays (eg from Hollow Sun, Cinesamples, Soniccouture etc).

I would like to get into the kontakt scripting side of things more, and also into the sound design more, but I am quite lazy tbh (and also busy with many other things).

Anyway, why do you use it and what issues have you found?

I'd rather use Reaktor for that.
