I really love the sound of this synth on its own, but I have one small gripe.
It seems to me that it is VERY hard to sit into the mix of a bunch of other vst synths. It just has this unqiue tone or something that I cannot pin-point.
Anyone else feel this way?

I like sytrus alot. But I agree sometimes it doesn;t want to sit in the mix. usually dinking witht he eq'ing can smooth it out though. But am rather fond of the little fruit hehe.

and the gui is way too small! People have been begging for a bigger version but they don't seem interested

I like Sytrus but haven't been able to use it since my purchase in July 2010 as it does not work in Cubase 5 64 bit. Hopefully the incoming 64bit plugs from imageline will sort it out, having said that the 64bit beta of Toxic Biohaxard crashes Cubase 5 on my system even worse than the 32bit version.
Hope they get it right on all fronts as I would love to use Sytrus (and Biohazard) in my work. Hey I might even buy more imageline synths if they do.

Image Line can take a giant step into the 21st century and release their line of goodies in x64.
I too, am waiting...

Sytrus was on of the first synths I bought. I still really like it, though the UI is pretty terrible. I never found it hard to fit in the mix. It can sound really huge but if I do choose to use a big sound I'll just keep the composition more minimal.

Yeah,
I agree the interface is to small, some updates/sound banks or developement would be welcomed.

I think there is a direct correlation between the lack of third party sound banks for Sytrus and the microscopic size of it's gui. There hasn't been a bank added here in over 3 and a half years and I can't remember the last time I saw a commercial bank for Sytrus. It's not the architecture of Sytrus that's the problem as it's a very deep and complex instrument. It should get much more love than it does based on it's sound but I've always felt it was the gui that held it back....just speaking personally I go nearly blind trying to work with it for any length of time..... repeated pleas from the user base for a larger gui have sadly fallen on deaf ears....
