Diva not multi-threading?

Hey,
Sorry if I am being an idiot here but when I turn on the multi-thread button in Diva it still looks to be only using one core of my cpu. It does lower the load of that core a bit but it looks like no other core is taking that load. Going off Logic's cpu meters here. The Activity Monitor meter is showing all the cores being used whether it's on of off.
Must I activate multi-threading on my system or am I missing something else totally obvious?
Using an iMac i7, OSX 10.6.8 and Logic 9.1.7

Logic doesn't know anything about our threading. It only sees the one core it has allocated to us...
You need to check Actvity Monitor to see the cores in action

Ahh, thanks
I think what was throwing me off the Activity Monitors meters is that without multi-thread in Diva and purposely maxing out a core I could see Logic's meter peaking but not the Activity Monitors.
Anyway, now that my mind is back at peace I better get back to making some music

Similar thing happens to me in FL Studio, the visual indicator is capping at 99% CPU, completely in the red, but no stuttering or chirping occurs.
I just upgraded to an i7 this week, where before I would hit 80% on my project file with Diva set on draft, and if it hit the cap ever it would stutter and clip and everything
now I have 2 instances playing on Divine without a problem.

Maybe you have some "use multi-core" selection within the preferences.JD Gaffe wrote:Similar thing happens to me in FL Studio, the visual indicator is capping at 99% CPU, completely in the red, but no stuttering or chirping occurs.

There's nothing much to add from my side. This is how it works, unless some plugin standard adds a modern paradigm to allow for multi pass, multi threaded processing.
We recommend to use multithreading solely for live play (as you can't see the extent of cpu on other cores etc.) and freeze tracks that you don't need to play live.

By just not turning it on. It's the LED below the quality setting...Echoes in the Attic wrote:how is multi-threading turned off in DIVA?
