I was just playing with Memorymoon and it is LOVELY! The arp is really really nice, very musical and some of the presets are really great. I like HH blah a lot :) I'm really happy I gave these synths a look, all three are $80 which is cheaper than most commercial synths, and the 'style' fits me way more than the trancy modern stuff. Anyhow I'll definitely be getting Memorymoon and Messiah now :)

Well I finally gave Messiah a good try, it is great :) I longed to have this synth as a youngster but could never afford it, and never got into NI's Pro-52/52 much, haven't heard Arturia's either, but this fulfills that gear-lust nicely. Again I really like the arp, favorite patch so far is 'plucky' with a little adjustments from me :) All these Gunnar synths are very satisfying to me. Really, I fool around with sound more than I make actual music, and these really satisfy me.

Hey gunnare,

I have been playing with both Memorymoon and Messiah all yesterday and this morning, really really lovely sounding synths, the arps are fantastic and the distortion on the Messiah is great, I made such a lovely arp/guitar patch and I was just lost in the sound for the last half-hour. I'm going upstairs to find my wallet right now :) and I thought I didn't need any more synths :D

It has a very nice Gui, but i think the sound is not very analogysh :?
i hear much Zippernoises and interferences, Sorry it'not mine

Well I'm not claiming full authentic analog is coming from these plugins, just I personally really like the sound, it is full and dynamic, the instruments all around are very playable to me, I love the arps in the Memorymoon and Messiah plugins, and to my ears the ME-80 reminds me of PBS circa 1980, and that is great :) something about the sound is just so nice to me ears, zippering and all. And the price for all three was very reasonable. I was also wanting to support a small developer who has an obvious passion for these old synths, and yeah the GUIs are nice and add to my personal joy in using them. Anyhow I like them, feel really good about giving my cash to Gunnare and that's all that really matters in the end :)

I really like these synths. They're based on the Chris Kerry modules, which are quite good and have some interesting features. The sound isn't perfect - it gets a bit hairy in the highs, and at extreme modulations, and they're showing their age to be honest, but the whole package just has something very nice about it.

In Messiah you can get some really goofy sync effects by choosing the "wave train" for the synced oscillator. Wave train plays one cycle of each waveform you've chosen and oscillator sync has weird/funky interactions with that process.

That's part of the reason I like giving Gunnare some support, Chris said he was working on non-Synthedit projects now, and I'm hoping Memorymoon also moves in that direction, goes 64 bit, but that won't happen without some support from users. Anyhow, these plugs are still great as they are, I guess I'll consider any wrinkles in their aging skin as 'retro' :)

i like the Minimogue VA from Gunnar, too,
it is one of the best free Synths i think
and there a lot of very fine patches for it,
but if i play with this "Minimoog-Emulation"
imho i think its even closer to the original ;)

I totally agree!

But why are none of Memorymoon's products listed in the KVR database?

I thought it was maybe a copyright issue or something, but seeing that synths are bundled with Mixcraft now, I dont think so after all....

My favourite is the Prophet5 emulation. It can produce some really warm sounds and the bank that comes with it is great, although I have to admit a couple of the patches are mine

I've been wondering about this for ages. I'd never even heard of them until I stumbled across them whilst looking for cheap/free analogue style plugins a while back. I bought all three and absolutely love them all. What with these and OP-X Pro, it seems all my fave analogue vstis are synthedit.

Yeah, I also bought all three Memorymoon synths, and OP-X Pro II. Also CK's Jupitea and Pattern Arp. All these are some of my favorites now. Not so long ago i would turn up my nose to Synthedit plugins, even free ones, but I've learned my lesson. My only concern is when Synthedit itself will go 64 bit and also an apparent memory issue in Studio One when running anything Synthedit. But that is better than a CPU issue by far on my older system, and won't be an issue when I get a new machine with gobs of RAM.

I have the whole collection of synths. My favorite is probably Messiah. They all sound great to my ears and don't seem to have the stability problems or high CPU usage you typically associate with SE synths.

All that's missing to complete the collection is a the Jovian 8 ;-)
