I received my license! Very Happy However, I have no idea how to use Ableton Live--it's very different from Cubase and other sequencers. Does the lite version support vsti such as Kontakt? I don't know how to use them. I was going to use Live as a rewire slave.

Of course it supports vst and au.
You just need to open the Live "preferences" and make sure you scan your vst folder. Check all the preferences.
The plugin folder one is most important, as if you happen to have your vst folder in a different place than default, you must direct Live to that folder.
Other important settings are your Midi i/o settings, and latency.
All within the preferences.
Remember, there are 2 different views there. Pressing "tab" will switch between them.

It's, of course, very limited but it's enough to have some fun Smile
Simply load some loops and trigger them with your keyboard or something Smile

And there is A LOT of music out there wich was recorded with way less than 8 tracks etc.
It's definitely enough to make "good" music Smile

Can't wait to get my link Smile

Cheers

Sure, that's true. But, here's the thing, the limitations cause you to avoid thinking the live way. You avoid building complex chains on a track because, well, you've only got six effects. It's better than older versions, but it is really limiting for dance music.

Just had a go of Ableton that came with my Saffire pro. I must say I was quite impressed and its true what they say about the workflow.

Might give some consideration into buying the full version and seeing if I prefer it to Logic.
