Thanks for the link. It's always great to read Jarre talk about synths. That 'surprising' entry is surprising, but with a nice write up.

They screwed up, it's not the RMI Keyboard Computer that he uses (although he did use that for Equinoxe), it's the RMI Harmonic Synthesizer.
Big difference.
Big difference.

Its 'favourite gear' not 'gear used'. Big difference.HunterKiller wrote:They screwed up, it's not the RMI Keyboard Computer that he uses (although he did use that for Equinoxe), it's the RMI Harmonic Synthesizer.![]()

Interesting list, but the Memorymoog is described as "The first analogue polyphonic synth?" How quickly we forget the Prophet 5...and the Jupiter 4...and the OB-X...

New album, Chasing Fire, out now on Amazon, iTunes, etc.

To be fair he did go on to say;Vectorman wrote:Interesting list, but the Memorymoog is described as "The first analogue polyphonic synth?" How quickly we forget the Prophet 5...and the Jupiter 4...and the OB-X...
"With the Memorymoog, and other synths that came out around the same time, in one fell swoop, we could make complete chords, and that changed everything."

It's well known that Jarre really meant RMI HS not RMI KC. He sold it over 30 years ago.whyterabbyt wrote:Its 'favourite gear' not 'gear used'. The KC wasn't used for Oxygene 5. So sorry to disappoint you....
Knowing and not knowing and thinking you know enough to be a smart ass - to everyone on this forum - for years on end....
BIG DIFFERENCE!

Mind-reading convention in town, eh?HunterKiller wrote:It's well known that Jarre really meant RMI HS not RMI KC.
its a bit of a lame supposition that im disappointed by what he used or not. Personally I dont really care. The KC wasn't used for Oxygene 5. So sorry to disappoint you....
You might as well say 'but he didnt use the OP-1 on Zoolook, so it cant be a favourite' for all the relevance that has.
He seems to have given a preference in an interview, and you're sulking and saying that its wrong because he used something else You can call him a liar if you want, but it was still an article about preferences, not equipment used. Sptting your dummy out because that was underlined is just a bit sad.
Indeed. I'm sure you'll grow out of it eventually, though.Knowing and not knowing and thinking you know enough to be a smart ass - to everyone on this forum - for years on end....

Considering how invested you are in the importance of being right about this, diddums, that's kinda ironic.BTW, shave that ego bud! It'll do you a world of good!

Wow look at that extensive post. I could say the same about you buddy!
It was probably the writer of the article who wrote the wrong thing. Once again you destroy your own argument, which when one looks at it, is just a big pile of nothing. You write just so you can see your own writing.
But then again I actually enjoyed doing this, since you absolutely must do it to everyone else on here, for years and years.
I just see through your infantile comeuppance games.

Its amazing how childishly invested in this you are.HunterKiller wrote:Wow look at that extensive post. I could say the same about you buddy!

And now you're saying the writer of the article must be wrong about whether or not something was JMJ's favourite, because you claim to know what it should have been.

Which one's the "surprising" one? TBH, JMJ was always noted for taking up new technology extremely quickly and avidly. None of those in his list surprises me...
I wondered if peeps thought the JD800 was surprising because it's so obviously digital, but it was really quite a groundbreaker at the time, and JMJ was no opponent to digital synths at all. I know everyone I knew wanted one when it first came out. First time I got my hands on one I was impressed with it. Or is it that tiny Swedish thing? Again, JMJ is known to take up new stuff eagerly...

I was thinking about the Op-1. But your are right, Jarre has always experimented with the latest technology, including digital so in this respect, it's not surprising at all (contradicting myself here
).

You destroyed your own argument as soon as you spoke in your very first post. Realizing that, you now try to do what every person in the history of humanity has done when they see that they have utterly lost the argument, they attack the other person. How predicatable.whyterabbyt wrote:... Its amazing how childishly invested in this you are.

Since your first thoughts in the previous post were of childishness, that's what I'd say you are.
What's the matter, don't like it when someone can see you for who you really are.
Common what else you got?
