Reaper: Assign midi plugin bypasses to the plugin?

Is there anyway I can make reaper assign a bypass to a plugin via midi triggers?
I don't want it to be a general setting on every project, but assignable on the go.

Is this possible at all? It would be nice to bypass things via midi when the plugin itself doesn't offer the feature.

If you click on the 'Trim' button the parameter list comes up and there's always a 'bypass' parameter (no matter which plugin, it's provided by Reaper by default) which is learnable.

I assigned it to a midi key note and it doesn't read the input still?? It shows which note I'm assigning on learn, but it won't change anything.

Edit: NVM I selected a different track automation mode, BUT, it reads it by velocity. Is there any way to make a stroke of a key turn it on and off instead?

Assigning a note-on for bypass would only toggle it one-way, even if you are also obviously sending note-offs. Here's a plugin that does note-on to 2-way CC toggling, I use for exactly what you said (bypassing), requires MIDItoReaControlPath plugin to use it on the same track though.

MIdi to rea is found on the Reaper forums only. Don't know anything about keystroke uses.

Thanks a bunch. I need bypass options for live situations. I'll look into it.

Could you help me on how I would set this up to by pass an FX?

Edit: nvm I figured it out. Thanks a bunch! Works great! This'll be great for live applications, or if I just want to turn stuff off anyways.
