Hello,
There are already been mentioned about this controller, but I found it better to create new thread for this app, so we can discuss features, offers, problems etc... Developer: http://www.wiksnet.com Appstore url: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/midi-studio/id519720275?mt=8 So here is description from appstore: #Midi Studio is a fantastic midi controller app that do not provide a sound but to control the sound in the studio. It's pretty unique and should be the one stand out from the crowd. - Best10Apps.com #Midi Studio is rated as a killer app by Apps4iDevices.com!!! Midi Studio it's great midi controller for your home or professional studio. WIth this application you can play on a virtual keyboard, move faders, knobs, play with drums pad. One of the best feature of this application, it's playing your notes with velocity sensitivity, you can hit the screen, stronger or weaker. Also you can change modulation using the surface of the keys, you can change a pitch, you can use built-in arpeggiator and many other interesting features. Midi Studio Features: -[CoreMidi] -[WI-FI] -[USB] -[True Velocity Sensitive ] (with the force of impact) -[Modulation] -[Drums] -[Faders] -[Knobs] -[Buttons] -[Touch pads] -[Two Keyboards] -[Different Keys Size] -[Custom Key Scale] - (Like: Major, Minor, Klezmer, etc...) What planned in next version (release 2.0 planned at the end of May): 1. Ability to create your own layouts/templates and controls. It will be interesting and a big update, so in theory your controller in Midi Studio can be look same as your favorite working device/vst plugin... Imagine that you see on the iPad/iPhone screen - Ableton Live's plug-ins, Logic's synths/effects, some vst/au plugins like MiniMoog, some hardware synths or mixers like Mackie Control, Behringer, etc. And all this can be have exactly the same look, so left for you only touch with your finger on a screen then control your work with it. It may be downloaded already created templates by us or you can create your own controls with different layouts. 2. Basic transport Controls at the top of the screen. 3. On/off solo, rec buttons near faders. etc. 4. Longer faders, Horizontal faders (or your size) 5. Jog 6. Dial 7. Different Velocity Presets 8. A more different key sizes 9. Guitar and guitar strings 10. Drum pad with a view of live drums 11. Ableton Live presets for (Midi Sync settings) Screenshots iPad:

Funny, I was just checking it last night.
I get confussed, what is this supposed to mean as features? -[WI-FI] -[USB] Wi-Fi at least, is it that Kork thingy (SDK) that lets several apps commute on different devices? Or just the fact it can communicate with a PC via Wi-Fi (and using what "receptor")? But then, via USB, with the iPad, how? I must be missing something really basic, I know ---- What better religion than music itself? |

You computer and iDevice should be in same network. Wireless operation, no more. usb - mean it should work with usb-to-midi adapters, like 'Apple Camera Connection Kit, iRig, etc....' all adapters which support Apple's CoreMidi. With original Apple USB to PC cable it will not work. |

Just want to say THANKS! I had received one of the promo codes awhile back and only just recently tried out what I was hoping it would do. I hooked it up to my Yamaha XS-Rack and sent the rack's MIDI THRU to my Roland JV-1080. I was able to have two keyboards up on the screen sending to two separate MIDI channels. I was able to control the two synths with the keyboards. It was great and the whole reason I have been looking for something like this. I was looking for something that would just send on a single MIDI channel, but to have two separate keyboards is just fantastic.
This really worked great for what I wanted. Now I can jam around with my racks without having to setup my keyboards and stand all the time (as I am constantly moving my equipment several times a week). |

Just out of curiousity, and this might not be the place for it, but is this sort of ADHD approach to pricing (free for half a day, $2.99 for a day, $3.99 the next day) really the best way to build goodwill amongst your customers? |

I downloaded with one of the serials you posted in another thread. I kinda like the look and it does what it promises.
Would be really cool if it had a "DAW-Mode" with faders plus pan-knobs and solo- and mute buttons etc. (I know there are other apps like AC7 that provide this, but nonetheless, it would be a nice feature) |

It's actually quite normal for the entire iOS market. I'm realizing, that if I watch daily, I can get a lot of great bargains. For example, 40+ games released by EA games were on sale for the Memorial weekend at 90% off. I picked up a few of those too. --Sean ---- C/R, dongles & other intrusive copy protection equals less-control & more-hassle for consumers. Company gone-can’t authorize. Limit to # of auths. Wait a minute... I just realized that you are DrApostropheX. You are the one who helped me a lot with the music apps that I got (thanks!). You know more than me about all of this! --Sean ---- C/R, dongles & other intrusive copy protection equals less-control & more-hassle for consumers. Company gone-can’t authorize. Limit to # of auths. I'm as big a fan of price drops as anyone, but 10 price changes in 14 days (according to AppShopper) seems a bit excessive to me. |

one suggestion- could you make the drum pads show the velocity via a change in color (instead of always red). It helps to have a visual representation of how hard you are hitting the pad versus just hearing it alone. Maybe graduate from yellow to red (or something else that would be vivid and striking). Maybe standardize that in all the modules that are velocity sensitive and show a visual representation.
Also, on the X/Y pads- it would be cool to have a momentum on/off option (and maybe some other automatic modes like spinning, zig zag, gravity, wall bounce/kick, custom shapes, accelerometer controll, etc). ---- ʝλ√λʝ Last edited by JavaJ on Tue May 29, 2012 7:53 am; edited 1 time in total |
