If I am GIVING my song away free, over the internet, for everyone to copy and forward, I can't control who says what on it.

Do you want your patches to be forwarded in a large collection that many seek, or lost on some corner of the net where no one ever looks?

The question is not one of control. So release your free song and I'll take credit for writing and performing the music then put my name on it....then it's no longer "your" song.

Again you miss the point. I don't mind if my patches are part of a collection and I've said so before. I just don't like it when someone else takes credit for them...it's a classless sleazeball thing to do. Certainly that concept is not hard to grasp?

far as I know, none of the peeps supplying these mega patches have claimed them as their own. many of the patches have the patch makers names or initials in each patch.
