VE Pro itself actually has built in support for more than 16 MIDI channels with AU plug ins, it's not a PITA so that problem is moot.
IMO, the workaround for Logic is a PITA. The AU protocol is not changed. There is no 'moot'. There is an involved workaround with VEP 5 (unique to that product) for Logic at least. People have been puzzled learning it.

There's you on the internet talking about something you never tried and have a faulty understanding of, correcting someone... I take your point. :)

OK so the newest version of VE Pro runs more than one MIID port for AU plug ins but you defend stating that it's some arcane workaround because for the older version it is??

You have never used VE Pro and DP together by your own admission but you based your statement on a single bug in a new feature that a developer said he's working on a bug fix for.

You also state that DP has a lot of legacy code. You simply do not know that as fact, complet and utter conjecture on your part. What you're doing is spreading rumors. That, is exactly what I was trying to convey to you by pointing out that if you were to base your choice of software off of rumors and accusations you personally would never use Cubase, as it has the most horror stories and bad press of any DAW.

I'm not pulling your chain, you're the one popping up in a DP8 thread talking about "legacy code", and "reports of problems" even though you claim you don't use DP. If anything you're pulling mine.

This is quite slick IMO (DP Control)...

I used DP many moons ago. I recall one could build custom midi control panels for external hardware, my Waldorf Pulse would like this! I'm ok happy with Sonar X1, but will give this a look-see once it's available.

What happened to this? They had a working alpha back at namm.......shouldn't the testing be done by now? Haven't heard any news

Well, I've heard it's still a Spring release, but MOTU haven't always been 'on time' with these things, ya know?

pool time? Which will come first, DP on windows or Samp on Mac? Both are in the works
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Is it really? I'm going with any answer other than bitwig :hihi:

Bitwig Studio, DP8, Live 9, Logic Pro X, Samplitude for Mac, FL10 for Mac, ...

Lots of stuff to be completed by developers this year, but so far non has materialized.

What's not to like about Vapor-DAWs? They're feature complete while getting more features with every thread and you never have to waste precious KVR posting time reading a boring manual. Tracktion 5 FTW! :hihi:

They are also currently 100% free :hihi:

On a more serious note...no doubt they will all get released this year (not sure about Live9 though) at cost but Tracktion 5... That will definitely be free

i would do almost anything ot have a mac UB version with proper multicore support, stable and 64 bits.

I'd cry.
Don't toy with my heart. I'd drop everything in an instant to go back to a working tracktion.
