Hi everyone, i've been demoing equality and pro-q these last few days and i found out that i enjoy this kind of eq compared to pultec kind of eq (basically i like using fancy looking EQ).

So far i'm looking for other EQ like that, the one that i know are ddmf and waves for now. Is there any other names that i miss?

I'm just looking to try the demo and see if i enjoy both the looks and the sound quality.

From my personal experience, EQuality and Pro-Q seem to fill up both positions that an EQ can take up for me. EQuality is the one when I went to add some color to the track, and Pro-Q is what I need to silently remove unwanted frequencies.

I actually haven't tried other EQs, since these two are also the top recommended ones on KVR, perhaps that is bad of me

I recently got the Waves H-EQ (on sale now for $99). I like it very much, it has got (most of) the bells and whistles you'd expect from a modern software EQ, but sounds much nicer to my ears (with the different models) than the likes of Equick etc. More analog-like. If that's what you're after of course.

I don't see it mentioned often, but I highly recommend it.

Yup, i'm also demoing that one right now. So basically i'm looking for the one that appeal to me the most since i'm gonna use on all my track from now on.

You might also want to have a look at channelstrips from Wave Arts and DNR Collaborative (Mixcontrol). They feature such an EQ, but also come with compression. Izotope Alloy is another one.
I demo'd Waves Renaissance EQ and I have to say, despite that it's slightly dated, I quite enjoyed it.

Unfortunately after a short period of demo, i decided to leave h-eq from the quest. The cpu is too much in studio one, even when it's idle and just with the analyzer on, it took 8% of the cpu processing. I intended to have the EQ on almost all of my track.

Spline EQ is nice, but it's linear phase, which will introduce some latency. I don't know if that would be the ideal choice for an only eq.

spline eq is a great eq for when you are doing mastering of hard core correcting and its pretty cheep if anything its a get for when you need to do the final step eq. But as for eq's are you looking for just a normal eq or one with mid side I would say not all the pretty eq's always mean they are the best. As far as just a eq for corrective stuff i would say go for something pretty but simple less options means you work faster. also spline eq has a free version i would say try that.

by the way doesn't studio one have some pretty good stock plugins I remember using it a few times stock stuff was pretty bad ass.

Yes, i use it all the time, but lately i've been more inspired by plugin with nice GUI.

Btw after some more demo, i'm probably gonna get Equality, the cpu usage is really low compared to some suggested here and my old Macbook Pro need every cpu it needs to at least be usable.

ah makes sense but I like the more classy GUI personaly it keep focus on what its doing not the looks bus yes looks is always a plug I use that eareckon eq for my cuts its cool looking low CPU and works well but that only because I like that whole idea of keeping things subtle and simple.
If you are not needing mid side you might want to try out the demo for that to. But i have heard some great stuff from equality. I might get myself a copy of that soon to
