I've been using the Waves L2 on different trakcs and busses, works great. But, is there any way to use it on tracks and make it so it doesn't quantize the track, i know I can set dither and shaping to none. The maximum quantization bit depth is 24 bits.

Honestly I'm not sure if it really even matters that it quantizes to 24 bits (I'm using logic 32 bit and my first full bounce is always to 24 bits anyways) so if thats the case then its fine, but I'm guessing it could introduce some CPU usage or latency?

Thanks for any help

If you ever want to take tracks and remix/mash/fsu then I would try to keep it as clean as possible. It's not a major concern, so continue to use it if it's the only option.

As far as I understand it, you have to quantize due to the plugin's internal resolution. Dither or you'll truncate. The importance of this is your call to make. I've never paid attention to the cpu cost of dither in mix tracks because it's marginal compared to bigger fish,. But if you are running it on several tracks and notice a cpu hit after engaging dither/noise shaping, it's certainly one of those things you can leave disabled until nearing the render.
