Hey folks,
let's say you have an effect, which uses MIDI controllers, mainly modwheel, to control some parameters. I found an interesting problems - seems that some hosts reset the modwheel when you open a project. But that's a big trouble, because the host may have actually not used the MIDI stuff at all, just used the GUI, set some parameters, then reloaded the project and the damn modwheel reset changed some of the parameter(s).
Any idea which hosts do that? So far I only know about Maschine.
I think it's better to let the host devs fix this problem than removing the otherwise very useful feature.
Cheers!

I actually think it's a good idea for the DAW to reset the modwheel to position zero. If you want it at another place, you have to record that. Otherwise there's no way to reproduce whatever you got initially.

I originally thought too. But just imagine any plugin, that uses the mod wheel to control any parameter not with position "zero". You are doomed, so you have to let the user map the mod wheel manually every time despite it is not convenient at all...

The way I solve this is to make sure that sound designers set the MW to zero in all patches. Users can of course save in other positions, as suitable to their needs/host.
