Possibly, it's certainly accurate enough. It'll be tiring to use as a mouse replacement, what with all the arm waving and pointing. Maybe a quirky sound mover for a live performances? Or perhaps useful for conductor training?

come on.. how will you write code when you don't have a keyboard
(maybe a device that reads the text as you think of it and writes it for you..)
this would have other applications no doubt.. but PC keyboards will be around for a long time IMO

Yeah, although it has certain applications, a mouse and keyboard will always be needed,.......

IMO this and even those multi-touchscreens.. they are just for "show-off"
i can't imagine someone seriously working with such things as user input
maybe a touchscreen is good for photoshop freehand drawing
but not for precise work..

Are you KIDDING me? This is probably the best invention next to the mouse!
This will allow the LEFT HAND to perform user interface tasks (or right hand if you are left handed) that previously could only be performed with the mouse.
This opens the door to faster manipulation of user interface elements. For example, you could use the mouse to highlight a block of text while simultaneously "swiping" a window out of the way.
Another example, the mouse can be used to select an object and then the other hand could move it somewhere - this leaves the cursor where it was instead of having to travel back and forth.
The potential for improving workflow is tremendous, this just scratches the surface!

i'd rather have 2 mices (is this the propper way to spell it? )
on each side of the keyboard.. on screen, the left mouse would have the pointer reversed so i don't get confused..

I don't want to be waving at the screen, arms are heavy things, especially after a few hours. One G-force gets hard work after a while.

Hmmm, it does appear to actually get 3D data from the dotted hand graphic part of the demo.
I still don't see the accuracy being useful. I've seen artists use a track ball type of thing in one hand and a mouse or Wacom pen tablet in the other, and they get quite an accurate and fluid design flow from that.
Although shooting things by pointing sounds fun!
