When I use logic and play my track, Logic stops working and this message shows up:

Disk is too slow or System Overload.
(-10008)
The Sudden Motion Sensor may have parked the hard drive head, or the disk performance is not sufficient to read or write all audio tracks, or the system was not able to process all data in time.

Is it possible that my hard drive is broken? Do I need to buy a new hard drive?

Because I Disabled "Sudden Motion Sensor" and it is still happening.

I dropped my macbook pro 15-inch for 5 months ago but haven't noticed anything until now.

Please help,

How much hard disk space do you have left?
If your disk is too full, it can cause problems.
Check your Logic preferences. Maybe just use the default settings for trouble shooting purposes.
How much ram/memory do you have?
What is your cpu speed?
How much free space on your harddrive?

Try searching on google about this problem.
I've heard of the same problem before on mac forums, and logic forums.
Can't remember the fix atm. Try locking tracks, and see if that fixes it.

The most logical answer without knowing more about your setup is that your computer is running out of power

but we don't know that till you tell us more.

The only thing i know for now is it's a macbook pro and you are using the internal drive...

Is this enough? I bought my macbook in november 2011 if that helps.

It stops when a I press play and want to listen to the track.

Now it showed this:

"System Overload.
The audio engine was not able to process all required data in time.
(-10011)"

The disk I/0 meter shows 0 and sometimes its full.
The audio shows 10 % and then sometimes full.
When one of them are full logic flakes out.

Yes it's enough. You shouldn't have problems.
What size is your project? How many midi tracks?
Did you try locking the midi tracks? (this makes cpu usage less)
How full is your hard drive?
Did you Google the problem?
I've read forum posts with similar problems before. Maybe there's a solution.

Wow 3 minutes of searching, and the same troubles.
I think if you try to cleanup your system...you know, use a maintance/cache cleaner type program. Lower the amount that's on your hard drive.
Lock midi tracks that aren't being edited, then you would at least rule out some of what might cause this problem.

Are you using any 3rd party plug-in? That could be the culprit. Also, maybe you are using way too much Space Designers or Amp Simulators

wow you have the exact same computer as me.. and my logic performance is very strong.. so.. something is wrong here....

OK....

the first thing.. if you are saying you are in an empty project and that you can't even play back one file.. then it has to be a hardware fault.

But if it is a heavy project with lots of effects that you can not play back then what is happening is that you are probably simply running out of juice.

I mean yes your computer is powerful but you still don't say how many tracks you are trying to play back

or what the system performance meter in logic is showing...

I am using a lot of tracks, but when I press solo on one track it is still not working. But if I open a smaller project then logic works, probably just to many plug-ins?[/quote]

if you're having everything on the 5400 RPM, the disk is kinda too slow for your purpose, unless it's fairly lite usage.

also relevant is your disk usage. 'I/O sometimes full'. I'm unsure of what you mean. If you are having consistent page outs ('writes out' in Activity Monitor), that's terrible and will make good performance impossible.

You want to have plenty of space left on the disk also. Many say 40% clear.
