Hello fellow omnisphere vSt users!

I'm using Omnisphere with VSTLord. VstLord makes it like a stand alone softsynth, i.e. without a DAW.

Has anyone else used these two together? I'm noticing odd midi behavior. Omnisphere has 8 patches that you can have in a mix. And in the mix you can select which midi channel and outs these 8 patches can respond or go to. I'm noticing that that my midi master controller is sending on ch2 volume information and patch on layer 2 is responding even though its midi channel is 16. This isn't right...correct?:?

Any help or feedback is greatly appreciated! :D

ok new observation... omnisphere has 1 - 8 layers in mix... My layer 5 is on midi channel 14 and I trigger the sound using this midi ch 14.. but if I want to adjust the volume fader on the omnisphere mixer using my controller, I have to use midi ch 5. Is this correct? shouldn't the volume fader be responding to midi ch 14??

Changing the MIDI channel does not change previously made MIDI assignments for the controls. Click "MIDI Learn and Automation" --> "Show Current Assignments" under the UTILITY menu to get an overview of the current settings.

Maybe it's best to reset all the assignments ("Unlearn all MIDI Learns") and MIDI-learn all controls you want to use from scratch.
The hole is deeper than the hum of its farts

dream, thanks for the help! prob fixed!

I also use sampletank, and there is no need for midi learning there, just pick the channel and all parameters get aligned, for some reason, thought omni would do the same. ugh, implementing multiple sources can be complicated.
