I quite like the arp in Zebra... It is polyphonic and has good control for expressive sequences... Here is an example of one of my own Zebra arp presets...

Oh that's nice, I didn't know Zebra's arp was that good.

The Zebra arp is quite nice... polyphonic, step length, note tie, note length (gate)... you can transpose notes and also control the step of each note so that a transposed note is not off key... you can also use portamento on individual notes

Here is a quick example I just made... not so great, but it shows the arp playing chords and portamento on the chords but not the single notes

Yeah I gotta say I prefer the first one you posted Smile

hehehe... It wasn't intended to be musical, just an example... Here is another... just 3 notes held and Zebra doing the chords, individual notes and transposing to 5th and 7th... bit of swing added

DiscoDSP Corona has a great arp that also outputs midi and can be used as a mod source.
Its just been updated to include Zero Delay Latenct filters which sound very good.

Just face it, you have no idea how to use the software youve just bought

Thanks for all the replies. I'm going to explore a few synths I have and plan to get Aalto on my next purchasing drive.

Cheers! Hug

Did you find any presets for Aalto? I have the demo but it has no presets and I have found almost no audio demos.

That's weird, I'm sure there were presets when I demoed Aalto. It has a built in preset browser right? If I recall correctly they even showed up in the Logic library (which rarely functions as intended)

duh!!

It has no preset browser, but in months of trying the demo, I never unfolded the plug-in directory in Live!! There are a bunch of presets... geez...

Thanks for the nudge Smile

I had to look up an imago of Aalto. It does have a preset browser, right there on the upper part of the GUI (http://madronalabs.com/media/aalto/images/Aalto1.2.png). You're using the latest version?
Anyway, you've found them, doesn't really matter anymore Smile

Maybe the Mono/Fury is something for you. Like the old Korg Mono/Poly the arpeggiator can trigger the four VCOs individually when running in "Poly" mode.

BTW: It's free.

Even Oatmeal has an arpeggiator/sequencer built in.

BTW: a midi DAW is essentially an arpeggiator/sequencer. More challenging and lot work to use it this way but also more versatile.

Have fun if possible!

FM8 Arpegiattor is really great and complete. Very easy to operate and intuitive to make simple sequences.

Xils Synthix arp is also fine : Each of the two keyboards have its own arpêgiattor, You can specify note order in the advanced page, it has gate and swing controls that you can automate via midi, Chord sequences, but the finest is imho the way it is tied to voices modes and also eventually adding the sequencer : Combining all this will give you results impossible to achieve with any other arp engine, and equally important, in any Daw as well, because .... its all in the synth engine.
