[MXXX] Update to 6.01beta3 is available

so MXXX has a new beta update, changes are below. You should have received links to the newest installer, if not, let me know .

Added voice copies to granular processor.
MXXX can now show editors of subplugins when clicked on them while holding shift key.
Added tuner and loudness analyzer processors.
Multiple modulator & multiparameter windows can now be open at once.
Granular - added pan + random pan, pitch extended to -24..+24 semitones.
Vocoder, Waveshaper, Dynamics, Freeform equalizer, Spectral dynamics, Rhythmizer (first 4 sequences of each type), Granular (first 4 transformations) graphs can be automated (first 5 points). Note that modulation can require lots of CPU.
Vibrato, tremolo, autopan and chorus rate increased to 100Hz.
Saturator input and output gain extended to -48dB..48dB.
Harmonizer now reports latency.
Modulator high-speed mode removed, instead the range has been extended to 100Hz.
Multioutput plugins can now generate feedback.
Filter - added band-pass and notch filters, disable sidechain option, nonlinear Q behaviour.
LU meters in integrated mode now provide the gating algorithm according to the EBU standard.
Phaser rate extended to 0.01..100Hz.
Vocoder - added freeze function, number of items in the vocoder matrix is now limited to 50 to avoid exceeding screen resolution.
Band editor collapse button is now visible only in edit mode, not in active presets screen.
Added band expand for the main crossover.
Loudness meters now highlight the -1..+1 LU target region.
Fix: Feedback causes high CPU usage which didn't get back to normal when the feedback had been removed.
Fix: Advanced convolution kernel settings may not have been working properly.
Fix: Crossover processor was crashing in surround mode.
Fix: Mouse wheel didn't move much with high-resolution mouses.
Fix: Crossover bands moved to the left made them immovable.
Fix: Some processors' GUI wasn't reacting to changes of channel mode.

The modulation of the graphs seems to work well, it can work very well on some effects and be a little glitchy on others like freeform eq (more CPU).
In that case it works ok on my system by changing the global settings to "minimal protection".

Also it seems you solved the high output peaks when using very fast modulators on filters, so that's really great !

Fix: Crossover bands moved to the left made them immovable.

It's cool that all the bands now follow the movement to the left or right, much more pratical !

There's still something strange about it, when you move all the bands to the right you have to move them back left one by one.
When you move all the bands to the left, they will all move back together with the highest band limit.

It's nice to have a plugin that can really do crazy stuff.

Believe it or not: I 'm delighted about the simple MBandPass free plug-in. This is so incredibly handy for cleaning recorded tracks. MBandPass sits now in the pole position (insert1) in my projects. Thanx again for this. You read my thoughts.

farfadetfarfelu, it's not actually that strange, it always find the first band limit under the cursor, so it basically always selects the left one . But I think it's fine (in fact if it would work the other way around, you couldn't move the limits from each other )

- Ok, no big deal once you know how it works.

- The dry/wet control in the saturation processor still sounds saturated at 0% if using some input gain. There are two dry/wet controls in the original Multiband Saturator, global dry/wet and band dry/wet.
Global dry/wet would be more useful in the MXXX saturator i think because it would sound clean at 0%.

Hmmm, I'm a little lost here. Anyway you are right, it clips the output of the saturator, I'll fix that .

Ok perfect !

- Another little problem that i have :
Let's say I want to to to a doppler effect using the vibrato and the pan in the utility processor.
Then pan needs to be in sync with the vibrato rate.

So i use a multiparameter to control :
1- the vibrato rate from 0 to 100 khz
2- LFO1 frequency from 0 to 100 khz.
(My intention is to use the LFO to control the pan.)

Problem : if i set the multiparameter to 50%, the vibrato rate is at 1hz and the lfo frequency is at 6.25 hz.

LFO freq and the effets rate don't respond to the multiparameter in the same way.
It seems that the slider "progression" is different on the effects rate and the lfo frequency.

- When you ctrl + click on a processor you can turn a processor on and off.
I can't seem to find the processor on/of switch in the modulator/multiparameter list ?
This would be really nice, for example you could use MXXX as a big effects rack and turn the individual processors on or off as you want them (with midi or whatever).
Right now this is not really a possible use for MXXX because if all effects have to be "ON" at all times, they will use lots of CPU.

1) You just need to use autopan or tremolo for example, and when you right-click them, there are the sync groups . You cannot synchronize with modulators, at least not now, not sure how complex that would be.

2) That's not possible, because effect on/off requires recalculation and reset of the whole structure and is far more complex. There shall be a dedicated multieffect which uses like multiple MXXX instances then (one of the many ideas resulting from MXXX ). Anyway now you can use utility to set the volume of the output if needed. This allows more control and in combination with multiparameter you can do smooth transitions etc. It won't save the CPU though.

Is it normal the chorus doesn't have the sync group option ?

The higher up to 100hz rate turns out to be very interesting in the chorus.

Yes, it's because chorus a little more complicated - basically the chorus to be well designed must as less predictable as possible and each voice follows slightly different parameters, so syncing it would either make it sound like s*** or it would work for the first voice only anyway.

One thing I would be love to see as a part of the Melda family was an unusual EQ [a spectral manipulator] where, instead of knobs one could simply draw areas in the spectrogram, either letting areas of sound through an otherwise silent background - or inverted - being able to remove sound from those areas from the sound playing.

If your familiar with iZotopes Iris VST instrument, well that's the sort of functionality I'm looking for, but as an effect...

spectral manipulator? Indeed! Don't know if it would be good to import images into MXXX or how it would work other than that. I don't believe, something like FLstudio can open an image...hmm, MXXX would have to open an image(though, there are other ways to use spectral manipulators, ) and send the audio out to be recorded into FLS via Edison. Or what ever DAW recording method is used by each person's chosen DAW.
