Hey guys! :)

I have little knowledge on music theory, I play guitar, quite well :)
But the theory is pretty choppy..

So i'm asking someone that got this down good to help me write some quick chords.
This is the progression so far:
Dmaj7, C#m7 F#7 Bm7, and i would like a nice little end to it. ( Has to be in D major scale)
Then a dominant modulation to, whatever scale and maybe with a nice little outro!

If you're very good at theory and want to help, I would greatly appreciate this!

Anyone? :(

What's the melody?

Melodies and such I have no problem with, kind of comes natural :)
So i'll write a good one when the chords done.. Are you able to help me out?

The chords are pretty self explanatory, so i take its just the arrangement, length and velocity of the said chords in a sequence of how many bars and at what tempo i was wondering. I could have a go when i get some spare time later on and give you a midi file of what i put together if you like+ if you have any idea of instrumentation and project tempo could throw a few audio files together for example. Im not promising anything special but ill certainly have a try.
let me know if this seems to help??? What kind of music are you looking for as this will greatly affect how the chords both sound and play a great deal??

I appreciate that a lot. But you really do not need to do all that. Only thing I need help is to "finish" the chord progression, and with a dominant modulation and an outro, nothing fancy at all.

Usually I would finish my progression how ever I feel it fits, but this has to be in D major, with a dominant modulation to another scale, then an outro.
The hard part is making chords that never leave the scale, with a "jazzy sound" sound.

So if you can, u can just write the chord progression here :) and then point out where it modulates too. (Dominant modulation).

Thanks in advance!

This is one of the weirdest requests I've ever heard. I'd really like to help, but what you're asking is: "can someone give me some random chords to a song about which he knows nothing except for a simple progression that could fit anything from Mongolian throat singing to Black Metal".

That's like an author asking someone to write the final chapter to his book without telling him anything about the plot or the characters.

just started reading into it and i have to say its quite some learning, but really interesting stuff. Everything being improvised chords around solo melodies and most modulations set on the 4th from the root note. this is a must to learn for when composing, it beats the hell out of the same old stifling chord progressions that you some times get stuck in and really opens the door for imagination and creativity. I dont know if this site will help but its all about jazz chord progressions and has most of the chord progressions written i think. Suffice to say Im checking into it

Haha, it's really not so weird. I'm not requesting a "song" in that sense, just think what chord "works" with the next.
It's an assignment, so it does not have to sound "good". :)

Just think "NO SOUL, ALL THEORY". Dmaj7 -> C#m7 -> F#7 -> Bm7. And i need a dominant modulation.
It's all theory, I have no "song" in mind. Just chords that are in the right scale and works with eachother.

And this too, i have to say i know next to nothing about jazz chords and reading these articles you can tell its deep. Try having a read as its basically talking about the chords your after and how to do it yourself. You probably know more about this than i do at the minute so i hope it helps. Think im going to devote some time to studying this, but its serious learning. I want to help but i have to admit i pretty stumped at the minute, sorry

If you put it in those words, yes. But it's more about learning as well.
This is my last assignment, and that's the only part left of a a series of huge projects.
And I have no clue bout it, so i'm begging :D
