Does this mean that a new version is on the way? One with AudioCopy/Paste? One that is compatible with Core Audio? One can only hope!

To be honest, I'm not sure if I want to jump on this or not. There's just too much missing. And even for $10, they still charge you $15 for the MultiTrack recorder/MasterFX, unless in-app purchases are 1/2-off, too...

I don't know anything about this app. Is this different from the "Recorder"? It's listed as the (only) top in app purchase, at $4.99.

I am considering this...

I think the iPad version comes with a 1-track recorder and if you want the 8-track recorder -- though without AudioCopy/Paste, I can't imagine what you'd do with 8 tracks unless you're Bobby McFerrin -- and mastering effects, you pay the extra $15. IK generally makes really good effects, so it might be worth $7.50 if the in-app purchases are also 1/2-off, but if they're not, you just paid $25 for an 8-track recorder and some vocal effects, though $5 will get you pretty much the same thing in GarageBand and $30 or so will get you so much more in Meteor.

I do need some decent vocal effects, though.

8 tracks of vox I don't need. But 3 part vocal harmonies are pretty standard, so being limited to one track at a time might be tedious.

Oops, I was looking at the iphone version. Recorder is indeed listed at $14.99 for the Ipad version.

Still, the vocal compressor is by far the weakest part of GB IOS, and IK make one of my favorite VST compressors (Black 76), so it may be worth it...

hmmm... :?

It may be worth it. I'm still not sure if I can record to it using a USB microphone (like the Samson Go Pro) or USB audio interface via CCK. If not, it's a non-starter for me, at least until I know how far off the update is.

I'd pay $10 if all the in-app trimmings came with that.

Tested the free version.

Input: UNSUPPORTED for both of my interfaces.

I guess I didn't take the "no core audio" thing literally enough. The app isn't worth 10¢ to me if I can't use a mic. :x

That's kind of where I'm at, too. Oh, well. AudioMidi has a good AAS No Brainer going. I'll spend my cash on that.

You CAN use any mic with the input built into the iOS device. We just so happen to make 2 great mic options too, iRig Mic and the new iRig Mic Cast.

That's cool, but what if I want to use one of my large-diaphragm condenser mics via a USB preamp?

If that was a reply, then I guess that says it all... in so many words..

---To be honest after seeing the demos I wasn't that impressed by them but then again I do use a really good hardware vocal harmonizer already so maybe my opinion doesn't count...

We are working on iRig Mic Pre which will allow you to connect any normal microphone to your iOS device. It is not a USB pre amp, but the quality will surprise you. As for being able to use a USB preamp with IK apps it will happen, we are continually working on our software and apps to add new features. No Public ETA to give, but internally we have dates set for our releases. I'll be sure to keep you guys updated the closer we get to release.

That's excellent news! I've been excited about the iRig Pre since I first heard about it (wondering how it will compare to the lil' Tascam preamp -- though to be honest, I'm probably going to go the ART Dual Pre USB route).

I know you can't give dates, but are we looking at six months, twelve months, or eighteen months? Just wondering if I need to jump on this VocaLive sale, even though I won't be able to use the app for 6/12/18 months.
