Latest News: u-he updates all their plug-ins

Yeah, I just listened to a sample mp3 on the newsletter I got today. They sound very nice indeed. No problems.. I definitely understand that one cannot operate at full-throttle 24/7 7 days a week |

Just want to share my specs of two systems for those who consider a switch.
Bank account value halved, workflow/fun doubled i5-430M / 7200 HDD / 4GB: 3x Diva (Divine) in normal project i7-2670QM / SSD / 8GB (but 32bit Live): 7x Diva (Divine) in normal project (9x INIT Alpha Divine in an empty project, it starts lagging with the 10th) |

You started a trend Urs! Hurry get those into ACE and Zebra as well. No pressure. I know you got a lot on your plate.
AFAIK they where known way before. He did not started it. But he presented them in pretty much U-he super intelligent and unique way imho. Under that i mean he just delivered them in top notch product with awesome programming skills without any mystification or stupid marketing. Like it should be (unlike some other developers). |

That's the CPU in this $599 laptop: http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?prod uct_id=0387855 btw, you really don't need everything in Divine mode, particularly not bass. |

My MacMini (i7, dual core 2.7GHz) can do only 2 instances with 6 voices of that preset. You're playing all 6 voices, right? You're always talking about the same preset, right? |

btw, you really don't need everything in Divine mode, particularly not bass. Yep, the Samsung got a perfect price tag for this CPU but I've chosen another model mainly for the good local service. Also true about the quality mode, in the end you render the track in HQ and that is what counts. Fritze wrote: You're playing all 6 voices, right?
I've just played the patch as it is with 6-10 short random notes each clip. For chords in one full bar it ends up completely different of course. The other test just features some medium instances within my existing project. However. In short: no more restrictions and I'm happy |

Hi all,
I've done a couple searches on this to no avail. I'm working with the demo version of Diva and the midilearn function doesn't seem to be working. I'm outputting from a Novation RemoteSL, and I opened up an instance of ACE and the midilearn there worked fine. The MIDI Activity light is indicating in Diva as well as the MIDI activity indicator in Ableton Live (8.2.5). Am I missing something here? p.s. I'd love to use Novation's Automap software with this (much easier than creating a template, at least most of the time), but it seems some of the parameters share names (OSC Tune2 is the name Automap recognizes as both the oscillator register parameter and also the fine tune param). Any idea about this? |

It's the same parameter, just two different views on it. There are quite a few discussions about this in this forum. Its not the most usable implementation for that parameter specifically, but a lot of the time the doubling up is quite useful.eg cutoff is the same parameter regardless of which filter module you are using. |

Dunno if these are helpful but my best efforts at mapping Diva for a Novation Nocturn:
https://www.box.com/s/f928dcb622abeb0ab326 I have a different template per oscillator model, which are pretty divergent, and occasional fine-tuning knobs based on the Automap UI's 'range' dialog. The manual with the current update briefly previews some impressive looking MIDI stuff which seems like it should be flexible, powerful and accessible to all independent of hardware. |

Sorry, I don't know if I was being specific enough. When I map the Register for Osc2, it manipulates both the Register as well as Fine Tune parameters on that oscillator. I assumed that the parameter would have the same name across views as you said, but this is on the same view of the oscillator section. This is why I'm trying to build a custom regular-old midi template. edit: Crap. I get what you're saying now. Apologies. |

The Midi stuff is preliminary. It might atm only work with channel 1 unless edited in the assignment file.
I've just added a couple of things and I'm sure it's gonna be good. Urs |

Hi Urs,
I've got what appears in my mind to be a very small feature request! The Moog Minitaur has a killer feature - Note Sync, which forces the phases of both oscillators to reset to zero degrees when a Note On message is received. This is particularly useful when using detuned patches because, without it, the fundamental may be reinforced when you first play a note, attenuated (resulting in a thinner sound), or even cancelled (resulting in a sound that initially seems to lie an octave higher than wanted). Forcing the phase to align at the start of each note eliminates this. Really think this could be a major enhancement when creating detuned patches - that is if the option doesn't already exist but I've yet to find it! this does not sound analogue , but it does not sound digital either.
Its a freak UHE done it once again this is a very good sounding synth, it wont make you sell your analogues just yet but its certainly a step towards the right direction. Well done U-He. |
