I used to have a Korg MS2000 and it was the best thing i found for vocoding, but i sold it after i returned from tour to recover some $$.

So, now im looking for a software alternative.

I know of the Orange Vocoder, but im not sure if thats Windows-only.

What options are there for a Mac and what, in your opinions, are the best ones?

Thanks in advance!!

Eiosis ELS sounds great IMO, is very flexible, and works with a Mac, but requires a dongle (if that's a concern for you), is 32-bit only AFAIK, and not cheap.

Vocodex is my favorite, but I just checked and it appears to be PC-only. :(
Logic Pro | LUNA Pro | OB-X8 | Prophet 6 | OB-6 | Rev2 | TEO-5 | Pro 3 | SE-1X | Minitaur | Deepmind 12D | Integra-7 | TR-1000 | Analog RYTM mk2 | Digitakt 2 | TD-3 MO | TD-3 | Maschine+

I love IL Vocodex but then I havent tried any of the other big boys.
It just delivered that sound I expected with bonkers amount of tweakability.
Theres lfos, adsrs and customisable keyboard tracking for just about everything!!!
And the internal synth is the Sytrus engine. While you cant tweak it you can load Sytrus patches. Of course you can use an external carrier too

Vocadex. Also the one in ElectraX. You can load audio files, but no audio passthrough. I have a Microkorg, and the closest is ElectraX. But for ease of use and some great sounds. Vocadex.

Never used it myself tbh but may be worth checking out

@osiris - What is Vocadex?

TAL Vocoder is a good option, esp since it's free ;)

Another suggestion for the Waldorf Lector. http://www.waldorfmusic-shop.de/Lector-en

I haven't installed the demo yet (on Mac!) but the demos sound rather exciting…

169€, though.

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

Possibly. But the OP stated he's on Mac and the VOC II is PC only. So…

But he says he's on Mac and this is Win only.
(I spelled it wrong)
I LOVE Vocodex. It's got a tiny Soundgoodizer pluggy inside and a pretty delicious reverb that you can use on its own. (Although I forget that)
