TristezaOrange wrote: Seriously, check out Caustic 2. It's an awesome app and I bought it but I rarely use it TBH - I just can't make music on a phone.
i bought my tablet on friday for everything BUT music making...out of curiosity, i downloaded 'caustic 2'...if i thought that this is all portable computing could do it would impress, but i have made music on an ipod touch (50% the screen real estate) and had a much better experience than this program offers..... i think i might find more joy in some more experimental type music programs such as sunvox or other generative stuff perhaps.....then when i can afford an ipad (somewhere around version 7 maybe) i will get back into the music aspect |

and i own an android tablet Cool name, im thinking about changing mine to knee-cap or spinal column there's a history to that name which is too long and very dull...just changing your name to to some random body part wont have the same heritage, nor will make the same sense..... but of the two, i'd go for knee-cap...much more catchy It made me chuckle |

except i made great music on a 3.5 screen in places i wouldn't have even been able to use my portable studio...now i have a 7" screen which is more than enough with the right talent, but the software don't match up |

Anyhow I asked this a while back but since it has been 6 months Ithought I'd ask again: what Android music apps do you find most helpful? Top of my list definitely is Caustic, nothing else really comes as close to a synth lover's app. BUt anyhow, to remix this because now maybe some new apps are available, what would your recommend I check out?
Buy an Ipad. It's by far the best, most flexible musical instrument available that you don't own. As an (ex?) Android tablet user, there is just no comparison. None. Buy a laptop. Same price as ipad but can use Windows hosts and vstis, has decent storage full USB etc. If youre serious about audio, Why compromise? |

Build or buy a powerful workstation. If you want to be entertained, or sketch some ideas on the plane or train, a tablet is a lot better than a laptop. |

owning a android phone 2.3 and caustic 2 dont work on it but one program that i really fell in love with is called sunvox, and is a really completer tracker with a huge lot of possibilities, it does take some time to learn but with a little bit of persistence and with help of tutorials on their website its not too hard. its also so beautifully designed for use on a small device. its pretty much complete and it has inspired me to do a sideproject just using sunvox... and its really stable... anyway check it out. mjiauuu |

ahhh
there is also a really cool app called nanoloop, which is based on program made for gameboy and is perfect for 8 bit music and more.. has synthesizer and sequencer and loop player... there is people using it pretty extensively, also very stable and works fine on older smart phones... |

I take laptop any day. The flexibilty far outweighs the few so called advantages ipad has. I have a laptop, desktop and Android phone. Can we get back on topic now? |
