Importing midi files

I use an iPhone app to jot down music phrases when I'm on the move. I download the jottings as midi files to my PC when I get home. I have had no difficulty importing the midi files into various music apps on my PC but for some reason Mulab won't import them. As a workaround, I have been importing the midi files into another DAW and then re-exporting them as a midi file. Mulab is happy to import the re-exported midi file. Whilst this gets around the problem, it's a bit tedious. Any ideas why there is this problem? I had assumed that .mid files were a single standard - maybe that's not the case.

Thanks for emailing the MIDI file. That MIDI file contains a track that does not end in the conventional way. That's why it's regarded as containing errors.
The next version of MuLab features increased flexibility when reading such MIDI files. That next version M4.1.18 will be available soon.

WeII I have loaded 4.2.2 and tried importing one of my errant midi files. I can now open the file in Mulab but only one track (out of 4) appears. File opens OK in another DAW - so we only have a partial fix.

Please also email the creator of that iphone app, as it's that app which is wrong. Tell them that they should properly end MIDI tracks using a end-of-track message (hex 2F).
